KYLE'S POV
I don't know much about what happened after Cartman, Stan, and Butters jumped me. The last thing I remember was bleeding while being punched in the face.
I woke up in a hospital room, my vision slightly blurry, as I looked around. My mom was there and noticed me awake.
"Oh my goodness, my bubby!" She says, as she runs to hug me. "Who did this to you? Tell me right now!"
I-It was..." I stopped myself. I remember what Cartman said. He told me if i outted them, he would out me for leaking the pictures, which could send me to jail. And for way longer than any of them. Not only that, but it could also damage my reputation."
"I don't remember."
She frowned at me. "You don't remember anything?" She asked, confused. I nodded. "I don't remember. All I remember was being outside, going for a walk to clear my mind." I lied.
She frowns. "Well, I'm getting police involved."
I open my eyes. "Ma, don't!" I shout, as my mom frowns. "Why not, Kyle? Is there something you're not telling me?"
"No." I lied. "It's because I don't want this public."
She frowns. "Bubby, somebody attacked you and left you for dead at a bridge! I want them to pay for what they did! It better not be because you're the only Jewish kid here, that would be a hate crime!"
I begged with her. "Please, mom. I have so much stress on me, already. I walked too far and probably was on the bad side of town. I promise you, I'll be more careful next time."
She sighs, clearly stressed. "Kyle. I don't know."
"Ma, please. I don't need more drama in my life. It's already hard enough, Kenny just passed, I have the school elections coming up. Please."
She frowns. "Fine." She says, clearly upset still.

STAN'S POV
Kyle didn't show up to school the next day. I went the whole school day, curious. Until I was home and was called downstairs.
"Stan, can you come down here?"
I walked downstairs, to see my father standing there, with Kyle and Kyle's mom sitting on the couch with a cop.
Shit.
"Uh, yes?" I say, trying to act innocent.
"Kyle was attacked last night and left in a park. We just wanna know if you know anybody who would do this to him?"
"Oh...that's terrible." I act. "Are you okay, Kyle?" I say, hoping he'll be quiet about it.
"I'll...be better."
"I'm sorry, but I don't know anybody who has issues with him." I say, frowning.
The cop nods. "We aren't trying to dig deep, but we wanna know where you were last night? Just asking kids around the school. Charges won't be pressed since Kyle is denying them, but school suspension will be required."
"I was sleeping over at a friend's house." I say. "Right, Dad?"
My dad nods. "Uh yeah, he slept over at the Donovan's house with his friend, Eric Cartman last night.
They nodded. "Yes, when we went to Eric Cartman's house, who was out first suspect, he said you slept over there. So guess it cant be you two."
I nodded. "Butters also lives with Cartman, so you can take him off the suspect list."
They nod. "Alright. I guess case is still open."
Eventually, the cop, Kyle's mom, and Kyle left.
"Geez, poor kid. " My dad says, sighing.
"Yeah..."
...
I drove to Cartman's house, opening the door as soon as I arrived without knocking, and ran up the stairs to Cartman's room.
"Dude, we need to talk!"
Cartman backed away from me as I ran in. "Geez, learn to knock first."
"Cartman, police are involved." I say, worried.
"Yeah, they already asked me earlier today about everything and I got off the hook because they believed me." Cartman says.
"Well, Kyle's family doesn't wanna press charges. But the school wants whoever did it expelled."
"Look, we're known as Kyle's best friends. They won't suspect us." Cartman tells me as I frowned at him. "That's exactly why they would suspect us."
...
The next day at school was unbearable. Kyle was back, and it didn't help that his assigned seat during class still was next to mine, being my partner.
It was awkward, to say the least. I felt as if he was staring at me the entire time, wondering if I would say sorry for what I did or explain it.
I regretted it. I thought maybe it wouldn't be as rough as we hit. he had a black eye, bruised noise, and his face was covered in bruises.
"I know Cartman put you up to this."
I turned and looked at him. What did he just say?
"What?"
"I said I know Cartman put you up to it. Beating me up is very unlike something you would do or come up with."
"Oh..." I say, not sure what to say next.
"I asked the school to call off searching for the person or people that did this. They didn't understand why, but whatever. I admit it, you all won. I shouldn't have took the drama I said at Kenny's memorial and put it online."
I nod, as Kyle let out a laugh.
"Wow, never thought I'd say this, but you're turning into a clone of Cartman. That's funny, you got mad because of what Cartman and I did even though you slept around with others too during our breaks. Yet you two seem to be besties now, huh?"
I glared my eyes at him as the bell rang, ending class for the day.
"Yup, best friends! And better than we were!" I say, hoping to get under Kyle's skin so he could leave me alone. It must've worked, because he glared at me a look I've never seen before.
"You know, out of everybody in the friend group I thought I would lose, never did I think it would be you."
I rolled my eyes at his whining. "Same here." I say, as I walk out the classroom.
