Standing at the edge of the stormy sea
Was the most beautiful maiden ever seen
Her eyes a constant swing among the crashing waves
Waiting for a love who had a promise to save. With every light that shone her way,
"Could it be him", she leaped ahead.
A journey so cruel was what he said
But would always come to you, he pledged.Standing under the light of the spinning lighthouse,
A spotlight within an impending darkness,
"I'm still here", she seemed to cry,
And silently hoped he would hear. The stars shone brightly today,
As if guiding her soul back to her.
Is the sky rejoicing? She wondered,
A silent question lost in the wind. The sea was reckless, brewing with storm,
And yet it didn't seem to accept its separation,
Always finding its way to the shore,
No matter how much they were pulled apart.Perhaps the sea would understand, she mused,
The separation she felt wasn't much different.
"Maybe if I asked the sea,
It would bring him back to me."The days passed and the moon chased the sun.
Rains poured and the leaves fell.
The flowers bloomed and the snow fell.
Still, there seemed to be no sign of him.The maiden stood at the edge of the stormy sea,
Her eyes still searching with a promise to keep.
The beauty had now lost her muse and yet,
Waited for him patiently. Not once did she question if she looked bad,
Not once did she question what clothes she wore,
Her mind and soul were with the sailor in the deep,
Experiencing adventures no one had seen.On one fine day in the middle of the night,
The moon shone bright, illuminating a path.
The maidens hand trembled with the cold night breeze
Yet stood there with her mind unwavering.A ship approached with majestic sails,
An eerie silence following its wake.
The maiden's heart thumped with joy,
And doubt was nowhere to be found.Stepping down from the withered stairs,
Was a man who had seen better days,
His eyes roaming in a frantic way,
At the shore she still stood tall.Their eyes met and their souls talked,
A new found life igniting.Soon they were together,
Their souls and minds as one,
And set sail on the journey of love.
