"Am I here?" I ask to a ghost of a shadow
My life seemingly hanging by a thread
In a world where I'm slowly fading away.
"I'm you," the ghost says and my heart stops.
"I am?" I ask, a truth I wanted to know but not.
"I was you," it repeated. "Before you changed."
I looked at myself in the mirror again and saw,
A lonely girl who changed herself to the way of the wind.
"Am I here?" I ask again, now afraid to know the answer.
"You are," the shadow replied. "But definitely not for long.
The change replaced me and it'll replace you too.
It is not in your hands since the more you know,
The more you succumb to the inevitability of change."
Is that what I'm going through right now? Change?
Cause I swear that all I feel is weak.
From long long days and long long nights,
Nothing is what it seems anymore.
The real world is crushing me with all its might
And I'm seeking refuge in my fictional worlds.
Even then I'm plunged out of my hiding
And pushed into reality, for change is inevitable.
So here I am, standing in the broad daylight,
Knowing very well that I'm fading away
While growing into someone I don't want to be.
