Hugo's POV

After we left Bayangor the conscious of our group made it to the next temple, the temple that made us face our fears, Azzy and I run out of the cave spotting Varian in the front of the Caravan. "that was close" I state holding the obsidian stone like totem "yeah, it was" Azzy states holding her wrist "hey what did you see in there?" I ask Azzy "you know to compare notes" I state, no way i'm admiting i was scared in there "just stupid stuff, my mom yelling at me, my dad agreeing with her, Nuru um-" she looks away "we have the totem thats what matters" she says walking off.

I watch the red head concered, she hasn't been ok since Nuru fell into that coma like state Varian rushes over "you got it!" He shouts wraping me in a hug, "yeah we did, whats next?" i say trying not to dwell on Azzy or what i saw in there "well since you asked we have four more to find" Varian smiles "four? i though it was five?" i ask the raven boy's eyes shoot up "oh right five" he says, he really needs to sleep, but i told him i would back off.

"Next is the Air kingdom's totem then the fire kingdom and by the looks of it we may need Azzy to help to grab the fire totem" Varian states I look at him confused "why Azzy specifically?" I ask as we head back to the Carvan. "she's the stongest out of both of us, i mean no offence but we're both nerds built like twigs" Varina states, i sigh i can't agrue with fact. I open the door letting Varian in first he smiles "such a gentalman" he teases as he walks in front of me.

I stop rolling my eyes when I spot Azzy sitting at the edge of Varian's bed, well now Nuru's bed for now since she can't get up in the loft at the moment. "you ok Az?" I ask moving to stand next to her, she doesn't respond zoned out. I look over at Varian worried he gives me the same frown. Looking back at the redhead i sigh "Varian and I are going to start driving again, you can join us up front or keep an eye on these two, your choice" I state she finally looks over at me her eyes glossy.

"I'll stay here" she says horsely and it breaks me inside. Azzy is the strongest member of our group and this is breaking her down. I nod and drag Varian to the front with me. We hit the reins and start to ride "she's not ok" Varian mumbles I nod agreeing "We haven't really talked about what happend three days ago in Bayangor" I say careful to not strike a nerve Varian clenches his fist knuckles turning white.

"you mean the fact that my mother put our friends into comas? or do you mean the fact that she's still finding ways to find me" He's angry as he folds his arms. The sun is setting meaning well be driving through the night once again. "Varian I-" I can't find words to say "I can't say what she's doing is out of love because one I don't know what that looks like and two I really don't believe her intententions are selfish" I admited gaining my boyfriend's attention. "but what I do know is that we will stop her, whatever she's trying to do. We've stopped her and Donella once before we can do it again" I state reaching a hand over and squeezing his hand.

He smiles and squeezes back "I know, but with Yong and Nuru passed out, you start to lose hope" Varian mumbles I nod understanding. We drive through the night I start to drift in the early morning causing us to pull off to the side for a pit stop. I switch places with Azzy leaving Varian up front with her while I lay down. Dreams are a funny thing because they can turn into nightmares in seconds.

"Mom!" I shouted at the burning town tears breaching my eyes when a hand is placed on my shoulder "I'm your mom now" Donella says. I fall into darkness colors flashing as I land. I'm in a feild of grass surrounded by sunflowers, Black hair in the distance but I just know its Varian I start to run to him when i'm pulled back by chains "you think he could ever truly love you? pathetic" Donella's voice rings in my ears as she pulls back on the chains pulling me into darkness.

I shoot up in bed hitting my head on the low baring celling "ow!" i shout holding my forehead. She's still haunting me, pleasent. I groan climing out of bed, the Carvan was still moving which was both a good and bad sign, good because we will arrive at the next totem quicker bad because that means i probably didn't sleep long. I check Nuru's vitals then Yong's vitals before drinking water from the cantina.
