Abhyudaya's room was quiet, but his mind was in chaos. The walls seemed to close in on him as he paced back and forth, his frustration mounting with every second.
"Why is it always me?!"
he muttered to himself, raking his fingers through his hair."I can't believe this is happening. How did I end up back here, back with her?"
He threw himself onto his bed, staring up at the ceiling as if it held the answers to his turmoil. The announcement of his marriage to Gautami had blindsided him, leaving him with a storm of emotions he couldn't quite untangle. Five years of distance, five years of change, and now they were supposed to be husband and wife?
Meanwhile, Downstairs...
The atmosphere in the living room was completely different. There was a buzz of excitement. Kavita, Abhyudaya's mom, was on a call with his Chacha and Chachi, who were on a trip.
"Yes, yes, Abhi is going to marry Gautami,"
Kavita said, her voice filled with enthusiasm."When are you all coming back? You must be here for the celebrations!"
On the other end, Chacha chuckled,
"This is such great news! We'll be there soon. I want to see my nephew tied down finally,"
he joked, earning a laugh from Chachi.Dadi, who was sitting beside them, clasped her hands together,
"Finally! I have been praying for Abhi's marriage for so long. This girl, Gautami, is perfect for him. I just know it."
Back in the living room, the atmosphere was light and cheerful. Everyone seemed genuinely happy except for two people: Abhyudaya and Gautami. They both sat on opposite sides of the room, each lost in their own thoughts.
gautami's pov:
I could feel everyone's eyes on me, and it was suffocating. How did things end up this way? I glanced at Abhyudaya, who looked just as miserable as I felt. His expression was cold, distant-so different from the Abhyudaya I used to know.
I tried to swallow the lump in my throat. Marriage? To him? Again? After everything?
I couldn't understand what our parents were thinking. Did they really believe we could just pick up where we left off? I wanted to scream, to shout that this wasn't fair, but my voice felt trapped. I felt trapped.
Suddenly, Sakshi's teasing voice broke through my thoughts.
"So, Gautami, ready to be my bhabhi officially?"
She winked, her smile wide and mischievous.I shot her a glare.
"Stop it, Sakshi. This isn't funny."She laughed, clearly enjoying my discomfort.
"Oh, come on! You both look like you're going to a funeral, not your own wedding!"
"Maybe because it feels like one,"
I muttered under my breath, not sure if anyone else heard. But Abhyudaya did. His eyes darted to me, and for a moment, our gazes locked. There was something there-a flicker of the boy I once knew, the one who used to laugh with me, who used to care.
But just as quickly as it appeared, it was gone. He turned away, his jaw tightening. I looked down, feeling the familiar sting of regret.
gautami's pov ends.
At Evening, Everyone is in the haul. But Abhyudaya and Gautami's mood is not that good. Sakshi and Aarohi were talking about something. You know na ✨GIRLS TALKS💅🏻✨. But suddenly, someone interrupted between them. Someone is pushing the door bell continuously. Sakshi got frustrated.
