(One. Warning: this will get a little sad and will have a small amount gore, I'm sorry.)
The sun shined on the field, a large crowd gathered around a small stage. On that stage stood nine figures.
"Yay!" Shouted the group of kids on the grass, all of them stood in front of the stage. They had just been told that adoption day was only three days away.
The kids were leaving today, and unknown to them instead of an adoption room they would be sent to the lab.
Not long after that they would be displayed on store shelves in shiny packaging for 'adoption day'. The critters stood there, softly smiling at them. It was all fake.
Catnap looked into the crowd of kids, finding a certain red headed boy and his two friends.
Timmy saw Catnap looking at him, and waved with a big smile on his face. Catnap waved back, tears started to well up in his eyes, but he didn't dare let them fall.
"That's right kids! In three days you'll be able to see the world! You can meet your new parents too!" James said, a genuine smile on his face.
From behind the human the critters all gave him disgusted looks.
Sick humans. Catnap thought, gritting his teeth. These humans were disgusting creatures, they shouldn't be considered human if they could do this kind of thing to a child.
Soon, James let everyone wander around the field so the kids could say goodbye to the critters.
Catnap immediately headed over to the three kids he had grown so fond of. They apparently had the same idea, as their small figures ran towards him.
Timmy reached the cat first, he jumped up and Catnap quickly caught him. The cat brought him into a hug, the child wrapped his arms around the cat's neck.
"I'm going to have a family Catnap. I'm going to have parents." He whispered into the cat's ear as they hugged.
"I know..." He responded.
Catnap put Timmy down, and now Penelope raised her arms up at him. A small amount of tears were in her green eyes.
"I'll miss you too, Penelope." The cat said as he picked her up, and hugged her.
"Shut up!" She whined, softly hitting the cat as the tears started to stream down her face.
Catnap put her down, and turned to Tyler. The cat gasped a little when their eyes met because this time Tyler didn't look away.
"I'll miss you, Catnap..." He said, his blue eyes holding an incredible amount of emotion.
"I'll miss you too, Tyler." Catnap said, the cat got on his knees opening his arms. He had never hugged Tyler before, and he didn't want to suddenly scare him.
The small boy ran into the cat's arms, the boy softly sniffled as the two hugged.
"Awww!" Timmy now had tears in his eyes too. The red head ran over to the two, joining in the hug.
Soon after Penelope did too.
"Whenever you feel upset, little stars. Just remember that if you have each other everything will be okay. Never let someone tell you that you can't love or care for someone. Love is an amazing thing, even if it can hurt you sometimes." The cat whispered to them.
