Chapter 9 - Friends

(I'm not really sure what to put here but whatever.)

The sun was suddenly bathing everyone in bright light. It was beautiful, but there's always a limitation to how bright it can be without it being considered blinding.

Almost everyone had to constantly look down as they walked out into the grassy field in Home Sweet Home. Catnap was finally having a peaceful day, and now it was ruined!

The staff were noticeably losing interest of following the toys around all day, but still continued their work.

Hoppy ran over to a shed, while the other toys just stood in the open field. Most of the critters went over to chat with Candycat and Catbee, but Catnap just stood alone.

Dogday quickly noticed this and rushed over to the feline. Catnap immediately started smiling the minute he saw Dogday coming over to him.

The purple cat and orange dog chatted for a while, Catnap's tail reaching over to touch the dog's shoulder every so often.

The two bursting into laughter when the other said something amusing. It was nice.

Catbee saw this, liking how the two interacted with each other. Finally she had decided that she wanted to meet this purple cat and orange dog.

She swiftly walked over to the two, ignoring all of the confused sounds due to her sudden leave.

"Hello." She said once she reached her targets.

"Um...hi." Catnap replied. Catnap's tail wrapped around his legs, his arms almost giving him a hug.

He felt so uncomfortable with new toys or people, but strangely he could definitely talk with new children.

Why did this have to be so difficult?

"Hello!" Dogday greeted, being the more enthusiastic out of the two.

"I noticed you two were alone. I wanted to finally meet the fellow feline of the factory, and the lovable dog. Of course there's other cats, like Candy, she's a little insane."

"Oh...well...thank you?" Catnap responded a little taken a back by the other toy's words. Dogday grinned beside him. Looks like someone's going to be making more friends! Dogday thought excitedly.

Catbee's wings buzzed softly, her smile growing. She put out her hand as if she wanted the other cat to shake it.

"You probably already know who my friend and I are, but I want us to properly meet. I'm Catbee, but you can call me Bee for short." She said still holding her hand out.

"Nice to meet you, I'm Catnap." He said reaching his hand out, shaking the kind cat's (or bee's) hand.

"So, do you mind if I call you Nap?" She asked. Catnap shook his head indicating that it was okay with him.

"Wonderful! That crazy one over there is Candycat, but she won't mind if you call her Candy." Bee informed the purple cat beside her.

Bee turned to Dogday, the two introducing themselves. Though it was supposed to be a simple thing, it quickly became a full blown conversation.
