We are over!

Anderson lit a cigar and puffed it into the air, as he eyed some more articles on his computer. His detective friend had brought in more files for him to look through, and there was some leftover pizza neither of them had touched.

"Are you sure that you won't be eating the pizza?" Sean asked, reaching for the last piece.

"I never asked for a pizza," Anderson said coldly, before picking up the black and white photograph again. He stretched out his hand for an envelope and the detective handed it to him. He opened up the envelope and pulled out some photographs of Karla. The ones he had taken with his camera with an excuse of 'loving photography'. Photography his foot! He pinned the two photographs with the rest of the pictures he found useful and traced his investigative thread to them.

"There is a high chance that this old picture belongs to her mother and Karla is the daughter of my worst nemesis. Putting their pictures side by side, you can tell they resemble each other a lot."

Sean rolled his eyes.
"And your poor wife thinks you find her beautiful. If I were her or any other woman, I would never trust you!" Sean gave his word.

Anderson smirked.

"There is a reason I do not date ladies, have you forgotten?" He asked and Sean nodded.

"You are undatable. I am sorry. You are way too logical and smart for that," Sean raised his hands in the air in defeat. "You are gonna be celibate for life my dude."

"I didn't argue against that," Anderson shrugged before he turned back to his laptop. "All I need is the maid's name and I am good to go."

"Rather than seek the name so badly, why don't you see her mother in person?" Sean asked, causing him to arch his brows.

"I am not that cruel. I promised Karla not to visit her mother without her permission," Anderson said, pressing his lips together.

"And you think that will help your case?" Sean couldn't believe what he'd said.

Anderson instantly laughed and lit another cigar.

"What makes you think I will not visit her mum?" He asked. "I do not give a damn what happens to that woman. I will visit her and that's it. I do not care if she gets a heart attack later. What matters is knowing if she is behind my parent's death or not?! Where did she go the day they died?"

"I am taking this as a sign of betrayal," Sean smiled.

"I owe my wife nothing," Anderson laughed. "I am very difficult to please."

Karla walked into the abandoned building where her lover was kept. The environment was very eerie, and her conscience wasn't okay by it. She ignored every terrible feeling and followed the strange looking men in. Gabriel was tied to a chair, with his head blindfolded with a bag. She hurried to him and hugged him softly before taking off the bag.

"My baby boy," she said, cupping his face. "My love!"

"Why the hell am I here, Karla?!" Gabriel asked in annoyance. "Why have you kidnapped me?"

"I needed to talk to you," she explained. "You weren't picking up my calls or replying to my messages."

"So this is your only resort?!" He frowned.

"My husband is rich, so I had no other choice," she explained before kissing him on the cheek. "Gabriel, my love, listen to me...okay?"

"You chose the wealthy guy over me. What exactly do you want now?!" He asked in anger.

"Baby, you," she responded. "I want you over and over and over again, my love. I do not want Anderson. I am doing all this so that I can save your life, and also that of my mother's. This Anderson guy is crazy!"

"Karla, I love you," Gabriel admitted. "But I cannot trust you. I do not know whether you are telling the truth or not."

"I am," she admitted. "My love, I swear that I do not love that idiot. I want you now and forever, okay. All I want is for you to work with me until we figure out a plan. I don't know what plan...but you get...right?"

"What plan?" He asked.

"I haven't figured out the second one yet, but the first one is for you to pretend to be my husband. Mother doesn't know about Anderson. She doesn't even know that he exists within the walls of our family tree. I want you to help me cover up for that until I find a way to tell her the truth."

Gabriel was silent.

"Baby," she cupped her face."

"Just stop babying me!" He pushed her hands off. "You only came here because your mum is in trouble!"

"No, baby. Never. I am here so that we can rub heads together. Aside from helping mum, we can figure out a way to make things up without fighting with each other. We can still be friends, right?"

Gabriel hissed.

"I will never see you as just a friend. I kept you pure until after marriage, I won't be surprised if he made you feel what I couldn't," Gabriel said before turning away from her. "I mean, he is your husband after all."

"Gabriel, I didn't say he slept with me," she defended.

"You do not have to. I know he did," he said with a pissed tone.

"So you won't even look into my eyes. You won't even let us figure this out or..."

"I will pretend to be your husband before your mum, but that's it," he said. "I do not owe you any other thing anymore. We are over."

Karla's eyes got teary.

"Gabriel please...," she sobbed.

"That man came in between us. We have to accept it  if we like it or not," he pushed her away from him. "Now get going. I don't wish to see your face."

She pulled him close and kissed him tightly on the lips.
"Gabriel, you are my first love. Do not leave me with that man, I beg of you. Gabriel pleasee..."

"I am sorry," he apologized.
