"I met your wife," Sean said, grabbing a bottle of drink from his fridge. Anderson was seated in the sofa, with his eyes peering at his laptop.
"You mean ex-wife," Bella had to intrude rudely being the sassy bitch she was. "They are as good as divorced, Sean."
"As far as I know, the court hasn't declared them divorced yet," Sean argued.
"But they will be soon," Bella smirked. "It won't take long before that lady leaves our lives."
"It seems that you want them to seperate so bad, huh?" Seas looked rather disappointed. "Does it not hurt you if it deeply affects him?"
"Anderson is not a child," Bella hissed. "This is his decision to make and I respect it."
"You care more about getting back with him than his happiness," Sean hissed.
"Could we stop this? Please!" Anderson pleaded, unable to concentrate on his work. "I have decided that I won't go back to her and that's it. Could we just accept it? No?!"
"You cannot just abandon your wife like this Anderson," Sean sat beside him trying to convince him. "What if you carelessly leave her with another dude who finds interest in her?"
"And what does that have to do with me?" Anderson shrugged.
"Do not tell me you do not mind if she gets involved with another man?" Sean frowned.
"I do not give a fuck what happens to her," Anderson admitted. Sean scoffed and ignored him. Anderson was back to his typing, sending his CV to different work places to get a job. Sean was done trying to convince. Sean was done trying to make him understand. The dude was just too difficult.
"You won't ever get love like this again," Sean warned.
"The world doesn't revolve around feelings," Anderson frowned.
Sean nodded. The guy was right, but not entirely right. How the hell would you understand how to handle mental health situations if you do not feel? How would you be able to empathize with customers, clients or build that trust worthy relationship. Such relationship wouldn't be possible if you do not feel. Even the most logical individuals pretend to feel.
"I promised her that I would get you both back together," Sean said.
"You shouldn't be giving her false hope."
"I am not! I believe in you both and I trust your relationship with all my heart. I believe that you both will make a perfect couple and..."
"Could you knock this off?!" Bella said with a frown. "This is beginning to sound annoying, and piss me off. Let us just knock this off, please."
There was silence. Bella sighed with relief and went to the coffee stand to get herself a cup of coffee.
Sean drank a gulp of his beer before returning the glass bottle feeling dejected. How the hell could he change his best friend's mind? What the hell could he do to make things make sense?
Karla hadn't felt anymore happier at the sight of the detective. She welcomed him in with a huge grin and offered him a sit, before ordering the servants to get him some water.
"It's fine," he waved it off politely. "I already had something."
"Please accept this," she pleaded as the servant brought the glass of water. "You are my husband's favorite person."
"I agree with that," Sean couldn't deny with a laugh. "But I still can't accept the water."
"I will leave it before you in case you get thirsty," she said, placing the cup of water before him.
"You are so nice," he admitted. She smiled and adjusted herself on her seat.
"So...how is Anderson?" She questioned.
Sean rubbed his hands together unsure of what to say.
"He is still mad at you..."
"You promised to speak to him," Karla reminded.
"I did, but it isn't easy," Sean admitted. "He is a very stubborn young man. I didn't expect him to call it off like this. He indeeed loves you a lot."
"I see it in his eyes all the time," Karla blushed. "But his anger is justified though. I was the one who made the mistake and..."
"You do not have to blame yourself," Sean gestured to her to calm down. "Your mother must have pushed you to the edge and you lost it."
"Sean doesn't understand that," Karla tried blinking back her tears. "He doesn't understand all I had to endure in the hands of that woman. Despite her troubles, I still loved her. All I wanted was to be loved back. But...," Karla cleared her tears. "The way she ridiculed me before Gabriel all my life proves a lot."
"Yeah...I...I heard about your ex. It must be difficult losing too many people in your life."
"I have lost way too many people in my life that I have given up on hope. First my real parents, then my ex, and then my mother. Now my husband isn't...," Karla bit her lips shut.
Sean cleared his throat and took a sip of the water.
"Never lose hope," Sean informed her, taking his stand. "It is never too late to get what you want. I need to leave now..."
"Don't leave yet," she pleaded as she sharply stood up. "I know this makes no sense...but...but I want to know about you too. Who is Sean?"
Sean smirked and turned back to her.
"Do you really want to know?" He asked.
"I do," she nodded with a smile. "I want to know who Sean is."
Sean sighed and sat down on the sofa again.
"No one has ever asked me that question. In fact, the story is never about me. It's mostly about you and Anderson. I...I don't think it is nice talking about myself," Anderson said with a smile.
"Do not say that Sean," Karla shook her head. "Come on, I am curious. Who the hell is this Sean before me?"
Sean smiled and gazed down at the floor.
