Karla hurried into the hospital in the morning with so much hope. The receptionist offered her a surprise stare as she hurried past her seat towards the hallway. She gave her a judgemental look the whole time, before staring into her system. Then a smile came on her lips.
Karla hugged her mother softly, before kissing her on the cheeks with so much care. Her mother hugged her back feeling confused with her mood changes.
"What's wrong?" She asked.
"Guess what?" Karla requested giving her mum a puppy look.
"You are pregnant?" Hee mum shrugged.
Karla felt disgusted and shook her head sharply.
"No, not that, Mama," she corrected. "You have been discharged."
Her mother's eyes widened in shock.
"You have to be joking," she couldn't believe what she'd heard. "Am I really going home?"
"Yes Mama," Karla agreed, hugging her one more time. "You can live as you want again. But your medications are your saving grace now. You need to always take them."
Her mother nodded without bothering much.
"Sure, sure, I will keep that in mind. I am so glad you finally convinced the doctor. Perhaps this is my chance to visit Gabriel's home," her mum was being stubborn. Karla cursed herself as she faked a smile. How the hell had she forgotten that? That made no single sense.
"Gabriel and I are still setting up," Karla excused the thought. "Perhaps when we settle, I will personally pick you up."
Her mother didn't bother arguing with her about it. She trusted her that and allowed the sleeping dog lie, just as it should.
"Alright, let me pack your bags and...," as Karla grabbed her travelling bag to pack her mother's items, she noticed her mother's face go pale. Her hand went to her heart and she began to gasp for air.
"Mum? Mum?!" Karla hurried to her mum in shock wondering what was going on. Her mum's sudden panic was one she didn't expect at all. "Mum's what's wrong? I do not get."
Her mum raised her fragile finger to the door. Karla's eyes followed the direction her mum pointed. To her shock, she'd caught sight of Anderson leaning against the door with his hands crossed. He had a cold look on his face, and seemed to be emotionless. Karla felt anxious and tears filled her eyes. She threw Anderson an angry look, and turned back to her mum. Her mum already passed out.
"Doctor!" She screamed. "Anderson, please get the doctor!"
Anderson didn't move a bit. The doctor hurried in and checked her mother. In a few minutes, he gestured to her to calm down and attached her mum to a life support.
"I told you to protect her from shock. Her heart is weak. Why did you make her go through a shock again?" The doctor questioned.
"I swear, I do not understand what just happened," she explained. "My mum just passed out for no reason."
The doctor gazed at her mum for a while, before tapping Karla on the shoulder.
"She will wake up soon," he advised. "Just be patient with her."
Karla nodded before sitting beside her mother, with tears in her eyes. Her mum's reaction was odd. Why the hell did she react like that before Anderson? Does she know Anderson before? What the hell was going on? Out of anger, she turned back to Anderson, and dragged him out of the room.
"That's why you ask about my mum a lot. That's why you decided to help me! You know who she is, don't you?! You are doing all this to punish my family for something, aren't you?! What has my mum done to you?! Why did she pass out just at the sight of your face?! Where do you know her from?!" Karla questioned.
"I do not know your mother," Anderson answered with a stern look. "At least, that's one thing I know. I cannot confirm if I know her or not."
"Then why did she react like that," Karla asked.
"Perhaps you should ask her," he pointed to the ward her mother was in.
"That's heartless!" Karla slapped him on the chest. "She is in a freaking coma because of you. How do you expect me to ask her now?"
"If she isn't hiding anything, she won't be shocked at my sight," Anderson smirked.
"What exactly do you want Anderson?! Why the hell did you come here after I told you not to? You know she would go through this didn't you? All this was your freaking plan!"
Anderson didn't react at all. She squeezed her face in anger and began to hit him on the chest in frustration.
"Who the hell are you?! Why don't you speak?! Why are you so quiet?! Tell me who you fucking you murderer!"
Anderson grabbed her arms, stopping any further hitting.
"Only guilty people panick!" He furiously let her hand go. "If your mother is hiding something ask her and not me!"
"Anderson...,"
"I have no time for this nonsense. Come to the office soon. You have a shoot."
