He watched like a hawk

Karla walked into the room, and tossed her bag on her bed in disappointment. She knew deep within her that she wouldn't forgive herself f the decision she made. She just couldn't do it. There was no way she could. She sat on the soft bed, and slowly took off her earrings staring at her reflection on her mirror. Damn! How much she has changed within months? Her skin tone popped better due to expensive skin care. Her outfits were expensive for sure, her make up were spot on and her jewelries were definitely expensive. Who would have known her life would change just within those couple of months? She snapped her mind off the memory lane and removed her earrings anyway.

As she picked up her spare towel to walk into the washroom, the room door opened and someone walked in.

"I need sometime alone, please," she said with a frown. The servants were getting a bit rude, and they seemed to barge in without knocking.

"I do not need to knock to enter my room," a deep voice said from the entrance causing her heart to jolt. She sharply turned to the door and caught sight of Anderson staring at her with his suitcase.

"Did you have to come back here?" She asked in disappointment. "You could just stay at Sean's home, and we will lie that we are living together."

"That won't be possible," one of the judicial officers said walking in behind Anderson. "You will need to stay together as a couple, and do everything a couple does. That includes sharing the same room."

"This is wrong," Karla argued. "We shouldn't be forced to stay together. I do not want him anymore..."

"It is just for 6 months," Anderson said with reluctance as he placed his suitcase back on his bed. "I just hope we do not end up killing each other in 6 months."

"Do you really hate me that much?" She asked in disappointment. "I mean...it is obvious you hate me now...so..."

"You make me hate you," he admitted turning to her with a fierce look. "Watching my mum die must have been a valid reason to hate you, but hearing you moan because you fucked my friend?! My freaking detective friend?! Do you know how much that hurts me?!"

The judicial official stepped back realizing the discussion was getting more personal.

"I will talk to the judge about this," he said before hurrying off.

"You see?!" Anderson pointed at the direction the judge went. "Even the judge thinks we are in a life and death situation right now."

Karla's face went pale and she couldn't speak. So he knew...he freaking knew.

"I...I do not know what you are talking about," she lied.

"I came into the house that day Karla, and I heard both of you. You were both in my freaking store room fucking each other. You were making...you were...," Anderson couldn't keep speaking anymore. His face was all red and he was trembling so bad.

"You had to do it! You had to freaking make me hate you, Karla!" He angrily picked up an expensive perfume bottle and tossed it against the wall. Karla shook knowing she was in trouble. Tears filled her eyes as she slowly stepped away from him.

"I am sorry," she apologized. "I am so sorry, Anderson. I didn't know what came over me that day. I...I was going through a lot at that moment. He seemed to have a comforting spirit and we complimented each other so well."

"So you connected with my best friend. That's what you are saying?" Anderson picked up another expensive perfume bottle.

"No!" She immediately denied realizing how expensive that perfume was. She had barely even used it yet. "No....I didn't connect with him, I swear. I just found him attractive at that moment. I promise you that there is nothing going on between me and him. I swear to you."

"You are lying to me," Anderson didn't believe her one bit. "You are only saying this because you are scared I will break this expensive perfume...right?"

"No," she denied sharply. "Of course not. I...I...I am not as dishonest as that, I promise."

"Do not mess with my best friend again," he wanted pointing his index finger at her. "I am letting you off this time, but I will not let you off again. You can date any other person in this world, but not my best friend."

Karla sighed as he returned the perfume back where he found it, and began to arrange his outfits back on the wardrobe. She had never seen Anderson that angry before, and she could swear that his anger was something of her nightmares.

"Please do not punish Sean for this," she finally spoke up. "It was all my fault. I lured him into doing it."

"Of course you did," Anderson didn't think much of it. "I mean, that's what you know how to do best. To deceive them and lure them to do what they do not want."

Karla fell silent and watched him without a word. That night, she couldn't sleep. She laid on her back staring at the sky. Her fear was so intense that she'd felt Anderson would kill her in her sleep. Nothing felt right and she knew she was unsafe around him. Everyone knew Anderson as an unpredictable Monster. He could choose to be nice this moment, and vicious the next.

"I can't keep living with him," she pleaded to her lawyer with a nervous look. "You need to do something about this."

"You said he didn't anything to you, didn't you? What are you scared of?" Her lawyer asked.

"Seems you do not Anderson well enough? That guy isn't as good as you think he is. He has...he has harmed people," Karla argued.

"Go to your matrimonial home, Karla," the lawyer told her with a pissed look. "He won't do anything to you."

"You do not understand. I feel like I am sharing bed with an enraged lion..."

"Just go to your husband and stop overthinking things," the lawyer said gazing at her from his laptop. "And if this is due to his detective, then stop seeing that guy."

"I have stopped speaking to him...."

"Then what are you scared of?"

"His anger.... I am scared of what Anderson might do to me. It is obvious he never forgives isn't it?!"

The lawyer stared at her for a while and tapped his pen.

"If this is scaring you so much, I can speak with the court again. But you need to understand that the judge doesn't see Anderson as a man with anger issues. They only see him as a guy who lost his mother due to your sharp tongue. Now leave my office while I figure this out."

Karla thanked him and walked out with a relieved look. Well, her lawyer was her only hope anyway. If there was nothing that poor man could do, then she was so screwed. As she got into her car and started her engine, her phone beeped with a message. She gazed at it and was shocked by the sight of Sean's message. He wanted them to meet! Was that guy crazy? Was already scared enough? She couldn't get into more trouble.

"He knows about that day, Sean," she said after dialing his number. "He is very mad! He isn't listening to anyone. I will advise we keep our distance."

"I suspected he knew already," Sean admitted. "I only called to tell you that there is no we. You need to focus on keeping your life together. Focus on your home now."

"You know well that I do not love him, right? I...I feel a special kind of connection with you. I...I have never felt like this before..."

"Karla, you are talking nonsence. Just Stop this. You are only going to get into trouble..."

The call suddenly went silent and she heard heavy breathings at the other end of the line. This got her spooked.

"Hello...Sean?" She called in confusion.

"You still talk to him?" She heard Anderson say, causing her to freeze in fright.

She instantly hung up the call and tossed her phone aside, quivering. How....how the hell did he do that? How did...

She couldn't find words. Anderson had definitively gone insane and no one knew the extent he could go to exact his revenge.
