The lawyer wasn't needed anymore. He barely settled down with the divorce papers, when the couple announced that they weren't going to get divorced. They were willing to let things slide and start all over again. The servants cheered with excitement and the lawyer took his stand.

"Fine then," he said. "In case you change your mind though, I am waiting."

"There is no way we will change our minds," Anderson was overly confident. The couple kissed each other as a proof of their love, causing the lawyer to leave.

"Fine, fine, whatever," the lawyer said, finally convinced. Bella walked down the stairs, observing patiently.

"I do not think we need her anymore, do we?" Karla asked, staring back at Anderson.

"Well...about that," Anderson wasn't done. "She will need to stay a while longer. Her flight is next weekend and her family house isn't conducive enough."

Karla frowned.

"Are you serious? I thought this was all a plan. You cannot let your ex stay here further," she wasn't convinced.

"Trust me, everything will be fine. She understood the assignment and killed it. You should appreciate her nice acting," Anderson said and Karla laughed.

"Yeah, I almost believed it," Karla said to Bella before stretching out her hands to her. Bella took it reluctantly. "Thank you so much for being Anderson closer to me. I truly appreciate it."

"It's fine," Bella said, taking back her hands. "He is my best friend. I will do anything for him."

"But I will truly appreciate it if you stay in a hotel all through this stay," Karla continued. "I am confident that my husband's ex lives with us. It makes so much sense and I am sure no one will agree to that."

"Well...staying in the hotel will be very expensive for me and...,"

"I will pay for you," Karla smiled. "Do not forget I own all the money my husband makes for this family. I can afford anything."

"Karla," Anderson called her out for her bragging.

"I am sorry, it's the truth....right?"

"Let her stay, Karla," Anderson agreed with Bella. "Society isn't safe, and it is not smart spending so much money in a hotel. If she wished to stay, then so be it."

Karla nodded with a smile and ran her hand down her hair.

"Fine then. If you trust her enough to stay, fine," Karla said to Anderson.

"Do not tell me that you still don't trust her," Anderson frowned.

"People can be wolves in sheep's clothing," Karla said to him. "You cannot trust anyone when it comes to marriage. Not even an ex."

"But you trusted Gabriel to keep meddling in our lives," Anderson reminded her of Gabriel. This caused her deep disgust.

"Fine, whatever," she shrugged. "At least I gave you back the diamond necklace. He is a trustworthy person, I can assure you that."

"Same with Karla," Anderson smirked. "The same way you played games with Gabriel, I played games around with her too."

"Could we just stop?" Karla was done. "This is getting toxic. We can't compare each other like this."

"Fine then," Anderson nodded. "I was only following your lead."

Karla couldn't explain how much she hated Anderson's sudden nonchalant nature. Was it all for this Bella or what?! Whatever.

A few hours later, she was before Gabriel's door to see him. It felt great that Anderson didn't arrest him for what he did, but their few days of silence was concerning for her. She knocked for a while until he opened with a grin.

"Please come in," he said in a smile. She agreed and walked in before sitting on his couch.

"Coffee?" He asked.

She shook her head, as she made herself comfortable.

"So, how is marriage?" Gabriel asked. "Divorced yet?"

Karla laughed.

"Divorce?! Nah! Anderson changed his mind. We won't be getting divorced anymore. Rather, we are willing to make things work out," Karla explained.

"Well....that's something," Gabriel said. "But I still think you should divorce him, because I have news."

Karla's heart sank. What the hell was going on now? What news does this guy have for it?

"It better be good news," she pleaded. "I cannot afford to lose Anderson."

"I am afraid you might need to lose him," Gabriel sounded pitiful. "The truth might be difficult but it's what it is."

Karla frowned.

"Alright, this is not funny. Where exactly are you heading to?"

"Do you remember those times your mother supported me over you, and treated me like a son even though I wasn't?" He reminded her and she nodded.

"Yes, I almost thought she had a crush on you or something," Karla said with a giggle. "It was a funny conversation."

"I am her real son," Gabriel explained and this shocked her.

"Excuse me? What?!" She was perplexed. "How is that even possible? She only had Anderson."

"That's what I thought too, but recently she has been showing concern regarding your marriage between Anderson and you. She feels you dated two brothers which is already a taboo on its own."
