Karla felt hypocritical as she admired Gabriel's picture, while thinking of her moments with Anderson the previous night. The sex was hot no lie, and his touches were one she would never forget. O! Men! She felt like she was gonna die. She massaged her forehead and calmed her frisky mind.

"Relax, Karla," she said to herself. "This is all for your mother and Gabriel. No one but for them...okay? My love".

But none of her words made sense to her. She could barely even forget his touches over her chest. This made her weak in the knees. Why was she thinking about Anderson that way? Was it because that was her first time? Or was it due to the reaction he gave when he saw the blood on the sheets?

"Hi," a soft voice said from the door. It immediately pulled her out of her thoughts, and she gazed at her office entrance. It was Shelly. She arched her brows and waved her to come in. Shelly hurried did, shutting the door behind her.

"I am sorry for everything," Shelly apologized. "I didn't know you were an important person to my boss. I thought you were probably a gold digger or just a regular poor person."

"Which isn't wrong," Karla reminded her. "Being poor isn't with one's control most times. It's not something to blame everyone for."

Shelly nodded trying not to argue with her.

"That's right," she agreed with a nod. "I completely agree with you. It was all my fault. I didn't remember my values at all. I just poof! Threw them out the window."

"You were mannerless," Karla helped her with the word.

"Yes, something like that," Shelly said smiling. Karla could tell she was still anxious, and was fidgeting with her fingers.

"Is that all you came here to say?" Karla asked.

"Please do not fire me!" Shelly pleaded with her hands pressed together.

Karla rolled her eyes.

"I knew that was why you came here," she twisted her nose.

"I did come here to apologize for all I have done," Shelly defended. "I have been a fool. Aside from that, I was also hoping to get on your side. My name is Shelly Tort and we can be best friends. I can guide you around the office and..."

"My husband is my best friend and my guide," Karla rejected the offer. "I do not need an outsider who called me a charity case to be any of that for me. Especially not someone who didn't want me in this office in the first place."

"I know...," Shelly shook her head. "My first impression was terrible. I promise that I am nicer than you think."

"Really?" Karla didn't believe her one bit.

"I swear to you," Shelly said. "Let me prove that to you by inviting you to my home for a ladies night. Some other employees in this office will be attending as well. I swear that it will be a moment for you to remember..."

"You guys will push me in a pool because I cannot swim and drown me," Karla was very pessimistic.

Shelly had her eyes widen for a while before she shook her head.

"Never...no... why would I do that?" She asked.

"Anyway, I will think about your offer," Karla had no interest in extending the conversation. "Till then, I need to get some work done. This conversation is getting too long."

"I will deeply appreciate it if you come next week. The ladies, including me, are trying to make things up and say sorry."

Karla smiled softly. Something about Shelly seemed authentic and she couldn't tell why. She was their boss after all. What could possibly go wrong? She watched Shelly leave before turning her gaze back to Gabriel's picture.

"I will be with you soon baby," she said with a smile. "Just see how crazy these people are. You will laugh if I fill you in, I swear."

When Karla arrived home she placed down her hair scrunch and turned to the empty bed. Anderson wasn't back yet, and that was no surprise to her. Most times he came back home late, and she had all the time for herself. The mattress was changed to a new one, the room smelled fresher again. Karla could barely imagine what must be going through Anderson's brain at that moment. He freaking deflowered  her. He deflowered the lady he hated with passion. Was that enough to get him obsessed? Perhaps he might never forgive himself for that. Karla smiled and ran her hand down her neck.

"I have an upper hand for sure," she said to herself. "He will love me in no time, and beg the world for me to stay with him. I would never. Why the hell would I?"

She laughed maniacally too herself before walking to the wardrobe to change into her night wear. As she fidgeted with the wardrobe, she caught sight of another compartment that looked like a safe. She couldn't tell what it was or why the hell he had it in the first place.

"Alright. I will call you later," she heard him tell someone.

Karla immediately covered up the safe looking thing, and pretended she hadn't seen it. Her eyes went to his as she faked a smile.

"Hi," she waved. He gazed at her suspiciously, and ignored her coldly. She expected that anyway.

"I will be joining Shelly Tort for ladies night next weekend," she said using a face wipe. Anderson's head swiftly turned to hers with a frown.

"You are crazy. The same lady who hates you...," he reminded.

"She is your employee. She cannot do anything to me. If she does, you will fire her...right?" Karla reminded him.

"No," Anderson denied. "Shelly is a dedicated employee who has worked for me for two years, and I just met you a few weeks ago. There is no way I will be firing a hardworking damsel because of you."

Karla was taken aback by his words.

"You said it yourself that you would..."

"I was just trying to scare them," Anderson corrected. "But I am not stupid. I might sleep with you, but you aren't my business. You are still my damn wife, and we will take it as that. I will do my duties and that's it."

Karla was unsure of what to say. Perhaps she was wrong. The sex they had meant nothing to him. Well...getting him obsessed would be more difficult that she thought.

"So...if she kills me...you...you..." she couldn't complete her words.

"Kill is a strong word, and a crime," he wasn't comfortable with the statement. "But if she does kill you, then so be it. I will get her arrested and my business moves on."

"You are crazy!" Karla lashed. "Will you not go crazy and force them to kill her by hanging? I am your freaking wife!"

"That's not my decision to make. The court will make that. You will die and be buried, and perhaps that will make my mission easier," he said.

She was baffled.

"I hate you right now! Our deal is useless. Neither of us can get obsessed over each other like this,"  she said with a frown.

"Fine then! Whatever. But we have a solution to Shelly not killing you," he said with a smile.

"And what's that?"

"Don't go," he said before stepping into the washroom.

"I am going and there is nothing you are gonna do about it! I will make you crazy for me even if that's the last thing I do!" She screamed in anger.

"Good luck!" He screamed back from the washroom. "And before you forget, I will be free this weekend. Let us see your sick mother."

Her mood changed and her heart dropped.

O! Boy! She wasn't ready for that one.

"What?!" He asked from the washroom. "Why aren't you speaking now?"
She faked a cough and stepped out of the bedroom. What the hell would she do now?! How can she avoid making him meet her mother? Her mother doesn't know him! Her mother would die of shock for sure.
"Could we not see her?" she decided to request, feeling tired of avoiding the situation. "My mother is very sick and she doesn't want to see you right now. She specifically asked that no one see her."

Anderson peeked his head out of the washroom.
"You didn't tell her about us then," he asked.
"I...well...I couldn't. She thinks it's Gabriel that is doing all this for her. She thinks I am just supporting Gabriel in everywhere. She doesn't know that we are married," Karla explained. Anderson looked disappointed.
"Do not tell me that she thinks you married Gabriel," Anderson frowned. "I didn't do everything I did just for you to make a fool of me. There is a reason that I chose to help your mother."
"We will tell her, but at the right time," she pleaded. "Don't tell her anything...please..."
Anderson nodded before focusing on the mirror.

"Fine," he nodded. "I won't show my face to her until you tell me to."
Karla sighed with relief.
"Thank you so much," she appreciated. "You don't know how much this means to me."
Anderson smirked and wiped something off his lips before throwing her a flirty look.

"You do not know how much it will mean to me too." He flirtingly removed his shirt acting like he was in a thirst-trap video or something. Karla felt cringed and hurried to the door.

"I...um...I forgot my crying baby outside," she lied and hurried out banging the door shut behind her. Alrigjt! The guy she married was crazy for sure. 100% crazy! Her phone vibrated and she picked it up. It was a message from the gangsters. They had kidnapped Gabriel just as she requested. This caused her to smirk.

"Yes! Now I can get you on my side, my love!" She said with a grin.
