My alarm rang waking me up from my deep sleep. I groaned and rolled over to turn it off. I grabbed my phone and checked my messages.

Good morning sunshine

I smiled as I read my text from Tommy. I replied good morning then rolled out of bed. "Christopher! We gotta go!" I hollered downstairs as I began to put a shirt on.

Christopher and I arrived at the fire station, only a little bit late, okay it was 15 minutes, but it was fine. "Dad!" Christopher screamed as he saw Eddie standing there waiting.

"Hey buddy, grandmas gonna take you to school today, I'll see you after my shift okay" Eddie smiled as he hugged Christopher goodbye.

I awkwardly walked away to go put my stuff in my locker. As I was hanging the last thing up I felt a hand on my shoulder which made me jump. "So, we talking about last night?" Eddie asked with a smirk.

"Uh...no" I said as I walked away towards the kitchen.

"So, like when did it start? Like was that the first date?" Eddie asked following me.

"Buck had a date last night?" Chimney asked with a laugh.

"Oh Buck tell us more" Hen piped in.

"Guys! It was just a normal date! Not that big of a deal" I argued trying to brush it off.

"Was it?" I hear from behind me and turn around to see Tommy standing there. Eddie shoots me a glance and I sigh.

"Hey guys, what's going on?" Captain Nash asks as he sets breakfast on the table.

"I, uh, have something to tell everyone" I said nervously as everyone sat down.

"I started dating someone, and it's pretty great" I continued

"Buck that's great! Who's the lucky lady?" Captain Nash exclaimed.

"Well....its Tommy" I said nervously and grabbed Tommy's hand.

I watched as everyone's faces went from confused to excited.

"Wow! Buck that's amazing! I'm so happy for you!" Hen exclaimed excitedly.

"Wow. When did this happen?" Chimney asked.

"Well, last night actually" Tommy chuckled before sitting down next to me.

"Well Buck, that's great! And even better since Tommy is filling in today!" Captain Nash said smiling.

I looked at Tommy confused "you didn't mention this last night?"

"That's cuz y'all were busy" Eddie chuckled and I shot him a glare that could kill. Everyone else laughed and we went about our breakfast and cleaning the station until we got a call.

I was woken up from a nap by the sound of our alarm bell blaring. I shot out of bed and ran for the truck. I threw my gear on and jumped in the back. "Where are we going?" I asked into the headset.

"There's a woman trapped in a cave a few miles out" Captain replied then blared the horn.

L.A. traffic is the worst, especially if you're in a fire truck. The lights and sirens don't really help.
