Buck's POV:

My fucking parents are in town. Why? Why did they have to show up? Why did Maddie have to call them?

"Buck, you ready?" Eddie asked as he tied his shoes.

"yup, I am ready to be ridiculed and shamed for who I am and all of my life decisions" I responded as I rolled my eyes.

"Buck, you don't know that's how they are going to react" He sighed as he stood up. I just rolled my eyes and grabbed my wallet off the dresser.

"Bye Chris, we'll be back later. Be good. Love you" Eddie told Christopher as we walked out the door. We hopped in my jeep and began driving towards Maddie's house.

"Buck! Eddie! Come on in" Chimney smiled as he answered the door.

"Evan, it's good to see you!" mom smiled as she walked over to hug me.

"With clothes on this time" Dad huffed causing everyone to give him a cofused glance before just ignoring the comment.

"Good to see you too mom" I half smiled as I walked to the kitchen for a beer. "Babe, beer?" I asked Eddie from across the room.

"yes please!" he responded as he continued to talk to Chimney.

I handed Eddie his beer and went back to the kitchen where Maddie was. "Why'd you bother calling them?" I sighed as I sipped my beer.

"because you were hurt, and I got scared so I called them. Evan, Just give them a chance" Maddie explained.

"Well, just so you know, I was not out to them until this morning when they walked in my apartment without knocking, to see us....well yeah" I explaied shaking my head with slight embarassment.

"Evan no!" Maddie laughed. "They did not?" She gasped through her laughter.

"Well we had just finished and were naked.....in the kitchen" I chuckled as her laughter.

"In the kitchen? Evan ewww. I've eaten in that kitchen" She laughed making me laugh more.

"Its fine. I moved out anyways, I'm living with Eddit now" I explained through my laughter.

"Oh my gosh! Evan! That's so exciting! Congrats!" She squealed and hugged me.

"Alright everyone! Dinner is ready!" Chimney annouced ushering everyone towards the table.

I sat down next to Eddie and he lightly squeezed my thigh in reassurance.

"So...Evan, when were you planning on telling us about your relationship?" Dad asked looking at me and Eddie.

"I don't know, maybe I thought I'd wait 30 years before telling you about someone important in my life" I replied coldly.

"Evan! You can't still be mad about that?" Mom asked harshly.

"Why not mom? Why? Because I'm supposed to be okay with being your failed attempt for spare parts for my dead brother you never told me about? I'm supposed to live in that shadow forver. Well guess what! I'm my own human being, I'm not him, I'm not his spare parts!" I argued back with my voice raising with every word.

"Evan...You're more than that to us" mom replied softly.

"Well it sure as hell doesn't feel like it! Maddie has been the only one there to support me my whole life!" I shouted at them.

"Evan Buckley! Do not talk to your mother like that!" Dad shouted.

"Oh fuck you dad! I've heard you say worse to her on the nights I laid awake listening to you guys fight!" I shouted.
