Buck's POV:
Lilah is at daycare, and Chris is back at school while Eddie and I work. It's been like a week since our whole don't have sex conversation happened and I can tell it still has Eddie pretty shaken up. Especially because I've never seen Eddie that angry at Chris. It's been a long week for sure.

"Hey babe" I heard Eddie sigh as he wrapped his arms around me while I stood in front of the bathroom mirror.

"Hey, whats up?" I smiled before turning to kiss him.

"Nothing, just exhausted after the day we've been having" he responded as he leaned against the bathroom counter.

"Yeah, long day, lots of calls" I huffed as I applied deodorant.

"Yeah, why can't it just be a quiet day?" He grumbled and I dropped my deodorant on the floor.

"Edmundo Diaz! You did not just say the Q word!" I yelled at him.

"Eddie I swear to god!" Chimney hollered from his bathroom stall. Just then the alarms began to ring.

We all jumped in the truck and I glared at Eddie. "Well, Eddie here just ruined our day" I chuckled into my headset.

"Yeah, big guy over here just had to say the Q word" chimney chimed in.

"Eddie no!" Cap groaned as he looked back at us.

"Guys. It's just a word. We had one bad day the one time I said it before. It's not cursed. You're being dramatic" Eddie laughed.

"Well you can kiss your nap time goodbye then. Today is going to be even busier than it was before" Hen retorted as we arrived on scene.

After that we had back to back calls, barely had time to put fuel in the trucks before we got another call. All. Day. Long. I'm fucking exhausted.

Finally, shift ended and it's time to go home. "Man I need a drink after that one" I sighed as I threw my bag over my shoulder.

"You have a kid now Buckaroo. Welcome to fatherhood where your after work cocktail hour has been substituted for milk and fruit snacks, with a side of tantrums" chimney laughed.

"Shit. Christopher's birthday is tomorrow. And I don't have anything planned yet" Eddie groaned as we climbed into my jeep.

"He'll be fifteen, just order some pizzas, get him a present, and tell him to invite some friends over for the night. He's past the age of wanting a big family party" I responded as I began to drive towards daycare.

"Yeah, we'll see what he wants to do when we get home. Just for the love of god, no penny....I don't trust that girl" Eddie sighed as he pulled out his phone.

We got home and I began making dinner for everyone while Eddie fed Lilah and Chris did his homework.

"Hey Chris, what do you want to do for your birthday tomorrow?" I asked while setting food on the table.

"I don't know" he shrugged as he shoved his homework back into his backpack.

"How about you invite some friends over? We'll order some pizzas and y'all can hang out and do whatever, Buck and I will just hang out in our room or whatever you want us to do" Eddie suggested.

"So me and my friends can play video games and eat pizza all night?" Chris asked skeptically with a hint of excitement.

"Sure buddy, if that's what you want to do" I laughed as I served his food.

"That sounds awesome! You never let me play video games after nine" Chris exclaimed causing Eddie to laugh.

"You're growing up too fast" Eddie smiled and playfully pushed his shoulder.
