"it's finally date day!" navi squealed as she greeted you with a tight hug. "what time should i come over to help you get ready?"

"hello to you too, navi. my class felt long, and i'm so happy it was the last one for today! i think i have the whole afternoon off," you told her, trying to break free from her hold. "anyway, my day has been good, thanks for asking. how was yours?"

"sorry, i'm so excited for you that i forgot that this is the first i'm seeing you today," she giggled, finally letting you go. "this day went by in a blur. i don't think i can tell you what was happening in my last class. anyway! back to my question..."

"i don't have an answer to that, to be honest," you sighed as you began to exit the building. "jimin hasn't told me anything about our date. i told him i'd prefer something casual, so i think it is? i don't know when i should start getting ready."

"he hasn't told you anything? not a single thing?" she asked wide-eyed, and you nodded with a sigh. he hadn't told you what the date would be. where it would be. when it would be. what to wear for it. nothing.

"you don't think he forgot, right?" you highly doubted it, but the feeling he did was there.

"i think he's just keeping everything a surprise," she told you. "based on what you've told me and my few conversations with him, i don't think he forgot." she was right. jimin didn't pose as the forgetful type. you were overthinking things.

"i hope so..." you muttered. maybe i should ask—" navi's phone ringing cut you off, and she apologised before checking her phone to see who it was.

"speak of the devil," she said, showing you her screen with furrowed eyebrows. "let's hear what this is about."

"hello?" navi said, walking away so you couldn't hear their phone call. she guessed jimin wanted to talk about your date and wasn't about to let you hear his plans. just in case the plans were supposed to be a secret.

"hey, navi," jimin greeted with a sigh on the other end. "are you with y/n?"

"i am, but i stepped away to answer your call," she told him. "we were literally just talking about you too. are you calling me to talk about your plans with her? your girl lowkey feels like you forgot about it since you haven't said anything."

"really? well, you can tell my girl she doesn't need to worry," he chuckled. "i'm on campus in the parking lot where namjoon parks. i came to pick her up for our date."

"you're not going to take her home to get changed first?" she asked.

"i wish i could, but our appointment is in an hour, and the place is nearly a thirty-minute drive from here," he sighed. "i saw the woman before she left the house this morning. her outfit is perfect for what we're going to do."

navi frowned slightly at your outfit. were your light grey half-zip sweatshirt and baggy blue jeans perfect? you mentioned that you told jimin you preferred a casual date, and your outfit was casual.

"if you say so," navi sighed, running her fingers through her hair. "i'll bring her to now, jimin."

"alright. see you with my girl soon," he said before happily ending the call.

you were right back at navi's side as soon as she ended the call. "what did he say? what was the call about? did he mention our date?"

"girl, one question at a time," she chuckled at your eagerness to know. "jimin referred to you as 'his girl" twice during our short conversation! i was feeling butterflies for you."

"really?" you asked, and she hummed in response.

"he ended the call saying: 'see you with my girl soon,'" she told you. "anyway, he's here to pick you up for your date. he's in the parking lot where namjoon parks."
