Chapter 3: Akira's Secret

Wednesday Week 1
Akira's POV
No more hiding. I have to tell everyone the truth. It will be hard but I have to. I can't keep it a surprise, they'll be upset I didn't tell them. It's not like I want this to happen but sometimes things are out of your reach, these are one of these times. I want to tell everyone separately, when I say everyone I mean the cats or dogs I want to tell. But I know that'll take a long time so I'll figure it out but not in a whole big group that's for sure. Coco's right there, I'm in Art Class and Coco is right next to me. I could tell her now or later. maybe I'll wait. 

At recess

Coco and Izzy are following me down to my locker because I said I wanted to tell Coco something and we ran into Izzy so I'll tell her at the same time as Coco. "So... I need to tell you both something very important." My hearts pounding hard, am I even ready for this? I took a deep breath. "You know how I couldn't hang out with you guys after school on Friday last term?"  I said. "Yeah what about it?" "Well... that night you all would've know that there was a talk night for those potentially trying out one of the schools as in starting new at a new school. DSP, Little Red, St.Creeks and KPS were there and I was there and I am potentially going to KPS." I said in a whole mouthful. Their mouths were open. "You're serious?" Izzy said. I nodded. "Akira we're going to miss you so much! How long have you known?!" Coco hugged me. "Well my owners knew at the start of the year but I only found out halfway into the term" Izzy hugged me as well. "I'm going to miss youuuuuu." Then suddenly Coco pulled away. "Wait. Have you told Katerina or Paisley?" I shook my head. "Can you not tell them yet? I want to tell them later." They nodded. All we talked about was that until Katerina called us. I picked it up. "Hi Katerina." I said, "where are you guys at? I'm with Paisley now and we're looking for you." "At my locker." "Alright we'll be there, bye." "Bye." And she hung up. They came in less than 2 minutes. "Hey guys, how we going?" Paisley asked us all.

At lucnhhhhhhh

I'm planning to tell Katerina and Paisley now. That stressful nervous feeling is coming back. I did with Coco and Izzy earlier, of course I can do it with Katerina and Paisley. I get lunch first though. Cheese toasted sandwich, mango chunks, cherry tomatoes, a small amount of roasted chicken and a peppermint tea. Katerina and I were talking together as we walked to the table. We took our seats. Coco and Izzy took extra long at the cafeteria line on purpose. It was just Katerina, Paisley and I. "So... I got to tell you both something pretty important." "I'm listening." I did it just like that, I told them, no stuttering, no deep breathes. I went well. They were sad and shocked though. "You're going to KPS? But you can't! You're our best friend." Paisley said. "We'll never see you again?" Katerina looked so sad. "No! Not necessarily! We might see each other in sporting things! We'll still catch up together." They still looked sad. coco and Izzy came to the table. "Do Coco and Izzy know?" Paisley asked me. "We do." They both said in reply. The only thing we then talked about through the whole lunch time was about it. I don't really want to talk about it though. Now the final person, Arthur.

After school.

"Autumn is such a beautiful season! Don't you agree?" Arthur asked me. I would agree except, it's that time in Autumn where winter's coming. It's April currently so we're lucky I guess. Arthur and I are on a walk together - after school. "Daniel's?" "Sounds like a plan." We love going to Daniel's shop. It's technically not his shop, it's his owner's shop but he also works there and there's pet friendly things as well. We walk in and the bell rings. "Hi Akira! Hi Arthur!" Daniel lights up when he sees us, he tells us we're his favorite customers. "Hey Daniel! How's school?" I ask him. Daniel has started going to school this term - at KPS the school I'm going to next term. "It was okay, it's different.I made some friends though. Charlie and Teddy. They're nice and all." Maybe I'll join Daniel and his friends when I go to KPS. "I've got a speciatoday. After school snack box. You guys want 1 each?" He asked us. "Sure we'd love one!" Arthur said. He picked out two for us, "that'll just be 14.00." Arthur and I paid and he gave us the boxes and we sat at the tables outside. Mine had popcorn, a couple of boiled eggs and a cheese and bacon roll. Arthur's had some fresh fruit, a slider and a muesli bar. "So Arthur. There's something important I have to tell you and I think you'll want to know this." Arthur looked a little uneasy. "Should I be worried about what you're about to tell me." "I wouldn't say worry but you know how on Friday last term there was the-" "the night where there was informations bout all 4 schools for pets considering going there and you're going to one of those schools next term." How did he know. "Well yes that's exactly what's happening, how did you know?" "I saw you there. I was there too, my owner was curious about the other schools." Why didn't he say hi? "So... what school?" "KPS". We sat and talked for a while. Talking about our relationship moving forward with the whole moving thing, when we'll see each other, etc. it was so easy with Arthur! Thank goodness!
