Chapter 24: At Midnight

Coco's POV
We've got a plan. It's risky, but it's going to be worth it. At least I hope so. "Oh yuck I feel like regurgitating those tacos." Cloud said nearing towards the bathroom. "If you're going to throw up - don't you dare do it in here! OR THERE. Don't need the place stinking like thrown up tacos and ice cream." Delilah said. Cloud didn't throw up, but her tummy did feel a bit funny. "Should we pretend to be going to bed?" Cindy asked. "Well duh! How will we pull this off otherwise?" I said. The dogs showered and everyone brushed their teeth. We were all in bed at lights out. "What is the plan if we get caught?" Daisy asked. "We run back to our bunks?" Emerald said. "We should figure that out. What do we do? Top bunks will have a hard time." Esmerelda said. "Here's an idea!" Flossie announced. "Everyone on the top bunks, just stuff some luggage in the form of a cat or dog and put one half on the pillow and cover it with the pillow." Flossie had a great idea! Cindy, Delilah, Esmeralda, Softie and I proceeded to follow Flossie's plan. As we were the only ones with top bunks. It honestly looked pretty believable! "Wait, one question, Flossie." Softie said to her. "Yeah?" Flossie replied. "What will the top bunk cats and dogs too now there's a decoy?" She asked her. "Hadn't really thought about that." Flossie said a little disappointed with herself. "We hide in the bottom bunks! Or one or two of us can be in the bathroom!" Teddy suggested. "Pfft. And how's that going to work?" Delilah asked. Only three of the bunk beds would be suitable for fitting another one in. Cindy and Clouds, Mine and Daisy's, and Softie and Teddy's. Fortunately, Cloud, Daisy and Teddy are all dogs. Which means Delilah, Esmerelda and I would have to hide in those bottom bunks with the dogs. We just had to make sure the dogs we tall enough lying down on their side to cover the cat and would have to be direct next to each other to really pull it off, as in pressed up against each other. Sounds weird, but it will work. Which meant that's Cindy and Softie would have to run the the bathroom. Cindy in the toilet with the door closed (just in case) and Softie in the shower with the curtain closed (just in case). We then sorted out which cat would be going into what bunk to hide. We planned based on sizes. I'm going with Daisy as she's the largest dog and I'm the largest cat (by fluff, I'm pretty sure). Esmerelda's hiding with Teddy. Delilah's hiding with Cloud. Cloud is the size of a cat though because she's a Pomeranian.  "Alright let's all do a run through." Cindy said. "Alright listen up guys! Miss Nina from DSP is coming to do a check on our cabin! Quick!" Cloud said. "Actually?" I stupidly asked. Everyone sighed. Why did I do that?! "Coco, Cloud's just doing an example, don't worry." Daisy said. "Alright let's do this again. Miss Nina is coming to do a check on our cabin, quick!" Cindy and Softie ran to the bathrooms. I quickly hopped under the sheets and Daisy came in. I was so close to her, my back could feel her heartbeat. We did really good. We opened the curtains just a little in case of teachers. We got our torches out and started looking at our stash.  A whole feast! We each got a jolly rancher, a peanut butter cup, a piece of the Hershey's bar (a fifth each), 2 blackberries, 1 airhead, a handful of marshmallows, 2 Oreos and a mini bag of popcorn. We started feasting. There was little to no leftovers. "Guys! I also brought a can of pringles!" Emerald got out a full sized can out of her luggage. She divided them all equally and gave us each a serving. It really was a feast. It's the last night, of course we're having a midnight feast. We all had brought some sort of snack with us - well except for Teddy. Which was fine. We had plenty. What's really weird is that Esmeralda brought blackberries? We had been frequently checking the window for teachers as well. We all declared we were safe from them for a while though. "Guys! I see Miss Nina from DSP! She's checking cabin 2! Quick! We're next probably!" Flossie said. "Haha, I'm sure we don't need another run through." Softie laughed. Teddy went over to the window with Flossie. "She's not wrong! Miss Nina is almost done checking cabin 2!" Teddy said. "No time to waste! Get the plan into action!" Cindy said. We quickly ran as quietly as we could into position. "Everyone in place?" Cloud whispered. "Yes." We all whispered back.  Miss Nina opened our door. "Didn't lock their door. Silly." Miss Nina muttered. I could feel her eyes looking around our cabin. "Eh. Seems good." She muttered. She went out and locked our door for us. "Wow. I can't believe we actually pulled that off!" I whispered loudly. "Me neither! I can believe we didn't lock the door though." Delilah whispered back. "Good job everyone!" Daisy whispered. Cindy and softie came out of the bathroom. We all settled into our beds. We said our good nights. Can't believe it's our last night. I was really enjoying camp.
