- Chapter 18: Surprise! I'm Not Dead! -

"Hey!" Nobara whines while surrounded by her (excessive) amount of bags, looking utterly baffled. "Why are you guys all empty handed?"

"Where do you think you're goin' with all that luggage?" Panda snorts.

"Wait a sec...aren't we all traveling today? For the exchange event with our sister school in Kyoto?" Nobara seems super confused, as if we were pulling a prank on her.

"Yes, it's an exchange event with our sister school in Kyoto" Panda continues. "Here in Tokyo!"

"NO FREAKING WAY!!" She screeches.

I can't help but laugh at her reaction. She looks like she's about to explode. While she's busy flipping out, we all begin to talk about her antics together. Around me stands Maki, Megumi, Toge, and Panda. They are all wearing their respective jujutsu tech uniforms in preparation for the exchange event. Maki has a blank expression on her face and Megumi looks as serious as ever. Toge stands next to Panda, his signature collar covering the lower half of his face as always.

"That explains why she hasn't been making a lot of sense lately..." Maki snorts.

"No doubt." Megumi mutters.

"Salmon." Toge says, nodding in agreement.

I nod slightly.

"The previous year's winner always hosts it!" Panda comments, watching Nobara's freak out. The causes her to stomp over to him and grab handfuls of his chest fur and shake him.

"Then whydya have to go and win it!?" She accuses angrily, shaking him harder.

"It wasn't us!" Panda winces as she shakes him like a ragdoll. "We weren't even in it last year! They just put in Yuuta so the numbers would match up!"

"Yeah, cause that was before Rika got freed." Maki shrugs, unbothered like usual. "Apparently it was an overwhelming win. I didn't get to see it since it was held in Kyoto."

"I'll never forgive you Yuuta Okkotsu!!" Nobara yells into a rolled up magazine clutched tightly into her hand. "Even though in fact I've never met you!"

Panda smooths down his fur with his paws, "Misdirected rage..." he grumbles.

"Salmon..." Toge sighs.

Nobara grabs the front of my uniform next, "And you! You knew but you never told me?!"

I put my hands up in surrender, trying to smile apologetically. "Sorry, I thought you already knew!"

She shakes me a little. "I packed up my whole room!" She accuses, her voice becoming more and more exaggerated with each word.

"Damnit!" She lets go of me and I stumble back a bit. "Now I have to unpack everything again!" She groans loudly.

Suddenly I look to my right to see a group of six or so students heading our way up the stairs.

"Hm?" I hum curiously.

They're all wearing what seems to be their own unique version of the standard jujutsu tech uniform. The girl in the front has mid-length black hair and dark brown eyes. Her eyes are sharp like her wicked smile. Behind her is a huge, muscular guy with a top-knot bun. Next to him, a robot looking guy. That's a little strange... And behind them is a guy with two strands of hair in front of his face wrapped with a white ribbon, while the rest of his hair flows down to his shoulders. His eyes are seemingly closed, but I have a strange feeling about him. Lastly, there are two girls in the very back. One is short with her hair tied into two blonde pigtails tied at the base and ends that point upward. She carries a broom in her hands. The other girl is taller with long blue hair. Her bangs are cut at a weird angle but she has very kind blue eyes.
