He scrolls through the app icons until he finds the familiar logo—Angry Birds. It feels strange, almost surreal, that a game he’s played countless times could somehow be linked to the strange belt of orbs he now possesses.

With a sigh, he opens the app and begins playing. The familiar tune plays, and the red bird, Red, waits in the slingshot, ready to be launched at the greedy pigs' structures. Suzuki focuses, flinging the birds at the pigs, trying to clear each level as efficiently as possible.

He plays through several levels, his eyes scanning the screen for any sign, any clue, that might explain what’s happening to him. But after several rounds, nothing stands out. The game feels just like it always has—simple, fun, and a bit frustrating when he can’t get three stars on a level. But nothing in the game points to the mysterious powers he’s gained.

Suzuki (thinking): "I don’t get it. If these powers came from the game… why doesn’t anything here explain what’s happening? It’s just the same old Angry Birds…"

He pauses the game, his frustration growing. Maybe he was expecting too much. After all, it’s just a mobile game. But part of him hoped that playing through the levels might trigger something—a memory, a new ability, or even a hint about the connection between the game and the real world.

But there’s nothing. Just birds, pigs, and slingshots.

With a tired sigh, Suzuki exits the game and sets his phone down on the bedside table. From his bedroom window, he can see a plume of smoke rising from the direction of the shopping district.

Without a second thought, he quickly dresses, grabs his phone, and slips out of his house. He heads toward the source of the explosion, staying in the shadows to avoid attracting attention. When he reaches the shopping district, the sight that greets him stops him in his tracks.
