Story Event: "Curious Friends"

---

Setting: Hanzo Academy Courtyard - After School

The sun is beginning to set as the students of Hanzo Academy are finishing their day. In the courtyard, Asuka is chatting with her friends—Ikaruga, Katsuragi, Yagyū, and Hibari. They’ve just completed a routine training session and are now relaxing on a bench under a large tree.

But the atmosphere among the group is more curious than usual. Asuka can sense that her friends have been eyeing her all day with a particular interest, and now, it seems like they’re finally ready to ask what’s been on their minds.

Katsuragi: "Soooo, Asuka… We’ve been wondering… What’s the deal with you and that baseball guy, Suzuki? You two seem pretty close lately."

Katsuragi leans forward, a teasing smile on her face, clearly trying to get a reaction out of Asuka. The others nod in agreement, their curiosity evident.

Ikaruga: "Yes, Asuka. We’ve noticed you’ve been spending time with him, and it’s quite rare for you to have connections outside our shinobi world. Is there something we should know?"

Asuka fidgets a bit, feeling the weight of their inquisitive gazes. She knew this was coming eventually—her friends had seen her with Suzuki a few times now, and it was only natural that they’d start asking questions. But keeping Suzuki’s secret while deflecting their questions isn’t going to be easy.

Asuka: "Ah, well… It’s not what you think! Suzuki and I aren’t… we’re not like that! We’re just… old friends who reconnected, that’s all."

Yagyū: "Hmm… An old friend? But you seem to be spending an awful lot of time together lately. And the way you watch over him, it seems… protective."

Asuka blushes slightly, but shakes her head.

Asuka: "I’m not protecting him! I’m just… well, he’s new to this whole world. I mean, he’s just a normal guy, so I’m making sure he stays safe, that’s all."

Hibari: "But, Asuka, if he’s just a normal guy, why does he need protection? Is something dangerous happening?"

Hibari’s innocent curiosity cuts through the conversation, and Asuka finds herself struggling to come up with a response that won’t reveal too much. She needs to steer the conversation away from Suzuki’s powers, but her friends aren’t making it easy.

Katsuragi: "Come on, Asuka! Don’t be shy! If you like him, just admit it! No need to hide it from us. We’re your friends, we’ll support you no matter what."

Katsuragi playfully nudges Asuka, but there’s a genuine warmth in her tone. The others smile, echoing Katsuragi’s sentiment with their expressions.

Realizing she can’t keep dodging forever, Asuka decides to give them a version of the truth—one that won’t reveal Suzuki’s connection to the Angry Birds powers but still satisfies their curiosity.

Asuka: "Okay, okay… Suzuki and I are close, but not in the way you think. We were old friends, and we lost touch for a long time. We’ve just recently reconnected, and I’ve been trying to help him adjust to everything…"

She pauses, choosing her words carefully.

Asuka: "Let’s just say he’s dealing with some stuff that’s a little out of the ordinary, and I want to make sure he’s okay. But that doesn’t mean we’re, you know, together."

Ikaruga: "I see… So you’re helping him in your own way. That makes sense. It’s just surprising because you usually handle things on your own."

Yagyū: "As long as he’s not a threat, I trust your judgment, Asuka."
