Filler Chapter

Forth's POV

I couldn't believe I was low-key jealous of a 4 year old! I could face palm over the way I had behaved.

I groaned inwardly as Kai clapped for me as I ate my coriander, but ugh, I still hated the taste of it, but since Kai was looking at me intently, I just ate it quietly.

Park shot me an amused look thereafter, knowing fully well I hated the taste. Once we were done with lunch, we decided to do a movie together. We all settled down on the couch with Kai between me and my mom and Park on my right. Kai was holding onto my mom, but his right leg was on me. Park tsked and was about to smack Kai's leg, but I stopped him.

"He is not doing it intentionally. He is just comfortable. It's ok."

"It's not polite, Forth. He can not do that."

"But if you smack him, he is going to think he made a major mistake and may hesitate to be comfortable around us again. As long as he is not being deliberately rude, we can let it be?"

Park kept quiet, not saying a word, and sat back. I worried if I had overstepped my boundaries. I looked at my mom, who just nodded her head, saying it was fine. The movie started, and about 20 minutes into it, Park went to get a drink for himself and offered to get us one too.

"Milk, Dadaa, please?" Kai asked. Park smiled and nodded. He went to the kitchen and I followed him.

"Park. I am sorry if I overstepped any boundaries earlier. I did not mean to do so."

"I'm not upset at you, Forth. I get where you are coming from, so that's why I let it be. Don't worry."

"You sure?"

"Yes. I also know you know how to handle him if needed. I wouldn't interfere if you were going to discipline him or something. And like wise. And if what you said makes sense, I wouldn't disagree with you. Kai watches everything, and he's a smart kid. So he knows what's ok and what's not."

I smiled as Park continued to make the milk for Kai.

"What drink do you want? Let me get it for you."

"Can I get a coke? It's awfully hot, but put it in a cup so Kai doesn't see or else he will ask for it."

I grinned as I nodded my head, fixing him a glass. We went back, and Park passed the milk to Kai, who had it. About 30 minutes later, midway through the movie, Kai was tired and ended up falling asleep on Forth's mother. Park looked over and saw that he had fallen asleep. He told us he would bring him home, but I stopped him.

"Let him nap first. Once he wakes up, then you can leave? If it's too late, just stay here for tonight?"

Park's POV

"I can't do that, but I can wait till he wakes up. He usually naps only about 45 minutes anyway."

Forth agreed. We continued to watch the movie, but being so exhausted, I ended up falling asleep on the couch too. Between my work; taking care of Kai, and other things, I was running on very little sleep, and the movie just lulled me into it. When I woke up, I realized it was close to 5 pm! Shit! I had fallen asleep around 3.30pm! Kai must have long woken up! Where ever was he?

"You are awake, dear? I made some snacks and coffee. Wash your face and come have some, ok?"

"Mae.. where's Kai?"

"He's in the room with Forth. Forth had an emergency work meeting but Kai didn't want to let go of him so they are in the meeting together."

"Oh my gosh! Is Kai bothering him?"

"He's definitely not. But go see for yourself. It's a cute sight, I have to say."

I was amused by her cheeky smile and went over to the study room. I opened it quietly to see Forth having a work meeting with Kai on his lap with a pair of headphones on. The meeting was playing out from the laptop's speakers but Forth had very cutely put on headphones for Kai who probably thought the sounds were coming from the headphones. I watched as Kai nodded earnestly everytime Forth said yes to something.

Just as the meeting wound up, I heard one of Forth's colleagues say, "Do bring this cutie with you to the office one day Forth. He will make such a cute assistant."

Before Forth could say anything, Kai went "Yes!" imitating Forth perfectly! Everyone burst out laughing. Forth agreed and ended the call, taking the headphones off Kai. Kai looked at him and smiled and they both turned, only to see me standing there.

"Dadaaaa" Kai cried out excitedly, climbing down from Forth's lap to come to me. I gathered him in my arms as I looked up at Forth who was approaching us and I thanked him silently for entertaining Kai. He just smiled and ruffled Kai's hair in reply instead.
