Park left for home around 7 pm with Kai post dinner at my mom's insistence. Once they left, I was just packing away the toys in toyogo boxes so Kai could play the next time.

"He loved the dinosaurs a lot, didn't he?" My mom uttered softly as she came into the living room.

"Dinaaasaurs as he called them. Cute."

I chuckled as I thought of the way he kept stressing on that name.

"You did buy a lot of toys, dear."

"I don't know what he liked, Ma, so I thought a little bit of everything. But Park refused to bring home anything."

"That's because Park has most of these at home already, and he doesn't want to spoil Kai. He believes in letting Kai know that toys are just temporary and that he should always spend more time with people who will be permanent."

"I never thought Park would become such a family man, Ma. He seems so different from university days. Then he was carefree, reckless, and lived life on the edge. But now, he's more reserved; guarded as usual and sensible. And I didn't even realize he can be this sweet towards someone. Do you know how many times he has gotten slapped by girls and guys in school for being an asshole towards them?!"

My mom laughed. "Well, now he has someone who sees the world through his eyes. So he wants to live the best version of himself for Kai."

"Yea. I can see that. That's very sweet. I just don't know if I fit in that world."

"Don't worry, Forth. Mae isn't going to force you in this. Park has agreed to his father to search for another groom for him. One that would accept him and Kai wholly. So his father is on the search already. That has appeased his dad so he can continue to look after Kai."

"Look for another groom?"

"Yea, his dad is really determined to get him married by this year."

"But.. his dad must find him a good one. One who will accept Kai and Park too."

"I'm sure he will. Park wouldn't say yes unless he's sure Kai is accepted too."

"I didn't realize his dad started finding someone else already. I'm sorry Mae."

"It's ok sweetie. Marriage is a life long thing too and like what Park said, you must be happy too. That boy has always only considered your happiness as primary. Actually now that I think about it, Park may seem careless but he has always been very mindful of others and how they feel and how they are. Don't you agree? Kai is indeed lucky to be with him."

I nodded, realizing my mother was right. Park always cared about us, first and foremost. In university, his priorities were Lam and me and now it's Kai.

Did he never ever care about himself even once? I finished keeping away the toys, took a shower and changed and got into bed around 10pm. I took my phone out, deciding to text Park.

"Hey, asleep?"

"No Forth. Just doing some work. Why?"

"How about Kai?"

"He's asleep. He knocked out once we got home and post shower around 8pm. I decided to finish off my work."

"What do you do?"

"I run my own business from home, for companies needing electrical engineering services. Been about 3 years now. I started it for fun but kept to it once Kai came into my life as it offered me flexibility."

"I see. Who takes care of Kai when you are working?"

"I do. I send Kai to day care and do my work from 9-4pm. I pick him up around 5pm and am with him till he sleeps at around 8pm. I don't work during the weekends and only do so from 8pm onwards when he's asleep. Mom helps to babysit when I need some urgent help."

"I see. Ain't it tiring?"

"It is. Physically. But I love Kai and I don't want him growing up thinking he has no one."

"I work for Pa so there's alot of flexibility. If you need help, you can always text me too."

"Uhm thanks Forth. But don't worry. I be fine. I can handle it."

"I... I do want to help if I can Park. He's a sweet kid."

Park didn't reply to that last message. I waited for a long while but no response so I eventually gave up and kept away my phone after wishing him good night. He just replied good night and left it as such.
