I woke up around 6 am when Kai had woken up, too. He lay in bed, just caressing my face when I opened my eyes. He grinned at me, and I almost snorted, but we both realized that Park was still sleeping away.

I shushed Kai and motioned for him to be really quiet. He nodded his head as I took him, and we left the room as quiet as mice so I could let Park sleep in a while more.

I bathed Kai in the tub as I took one with him, and we splashed around for a bit. Once done, I wrapped him up warmly, changed him, and we went down for breakfast.

Ma was already awake and surprised to see us both at 7am. sharp! She smiled as she saw us, hand in hand. During breakfast, Kai wanted to sit on my lap and be fed again, but I reminded him of eating rules and about what Park had said. He nodded and listened to me, sitting quietly on the chair and ate his breakfast. As usual, he chatted away while I listened to him. 4 year olds could be really random at times.

Once we were done with breakfast, I took some books out, which I had bought, and was reading him a story when Park finally joined us around 9am, having showered and changed.

"Hey.. why didn't you wake me up?"

"Wanted you to sleep in and rest more. How do you feel?"

"Good, actually. Thank you for the extra time to sleep in. I feel much more human now. Has he been a good kid?"

I nodded as I filled him in on what we did. Kai had long run to Park once he had seen him and was nestled in his arms now. Park kissed him, praising him for being such a good kid. He smiled triumphantly at him and finally slid down from Park to join me on the couch again. He nestled into me as he started flipping the pages. I told Park to have his food while I read to Kai.

Around 1pm, we all left. I sent Park and Kai home so they could get ready to go see the prospective groom. Once we got to his house, Kai kissed me then ran off to play with his toys while I stood at the door.

"Thanks for the ride and yesterday Forth. It was really good for Kai. He definitely enjoyed himself."

"I hope you did too."

Park just smiled, nodding his head.

"Get home safe, na?"

"Will do so. Keep me updated on how later goes? Hopefully Kai will like the guy."

"Yea I will. As long as he's happy."

I nodded, the ache hitting me again that I could have been the provider of that happiness and had ruined it with my own potty mouth.

Park smiled at me before muttering, "Thank you for today though. It's the happiest I seen Kai around someone else. He's really starting to adore you."

"That's good. He..he has a da..I mean uncle in me if he ever needs anything."

Park looked at me, knowing I wanted to say something else but held myself back. I nodded at him and took my leave. But I turned back to Park just as he was about to close the door.

"Park.."

"Yea?"

"If I had given it a chance about Kai, would you have given us a chance?"

Park looked at me for a long bit. "If you hadn't written off Kai from the start, I would have given it a shot."

The pain that shot through me.

Really dammed potty mouth I had! I nodded grimly, aware that I had blown all chances.
