I woke up around 1pm, having knocked out completely, to an empty bed. I sat up, ruffling my hair mindlessly as I wondered where Park and Kai were.

"Dadaa Forthie!" Kai called out as he came running into the room! I smiled as he jumped into my arms!

"Ooof! Is it me, or are you stronger today? What did you have for breakfast?"

"Dadaa made pancakes. And grandma did..faffles!" He exclaimed triumphantly. I laughed. "Waffles sounds good. Can I have some, too?"

"Uh, uhh. Yes, you can. Come, let's go."

I laughed as Kai tried to pull me out of bed. I got out of bed, carrying him when Park came into the room.

"Knew it! When I didn't find him in the playroom, I figured he was coming here to disturb you. Sorry, he woke you up, huh?"

"It's ok. I had already woken up, plus it's 1pm already. Why didn't you wake me up?"

"It's fine. You were sleeping soundly. I didn't want to disturb you."

I smiled at Park as he took Kai from me, allowing me to shower and change in peace. I came down only to see his dad there. Park's mom had gone to the market, and Park was in the bathroom with Kai, cleaning him up.

"Hello, Uncle."

"Hello, my boy. Did you sleep well? Come eat. I know Juyn had kept some waffles for you."

"Sorry for sleeping in late, Uncle. Didn't mean to."

"Don't be silly, boy. It's the weekend. Just rest. Did you two have fun last night? Come sit here with me. Let's have a chat."

I sat down, filling him in on what we did, minus the kiss and confession, of course. He smiled at me, patting my knees gently.

"You really are there for my son and Kai a lot. Thank you. I know children aren't in your plan, so to still see you spending so much time with Kai, it's sweet."

"Uncle.. about that.. I.. Im sorry."

"Don't be, why are you sorry? You are allowed to have your own wishes. Don't be silly."

"No. I'm sorry that I jumped the gun and did not give it a chance. I.. I really like Kai a lot. Park even more. And I want to be a part of their lives. In any way. Will you.. let me.."

I trailed off, just looking at him hesitantly. Park's dad looked at me, cocking his head thoughtfully.

"Is that so?"

I nodded.

"Kai isn't a decision to be changing your mind over, multiple times. How can I be sure you wouldn't do it again?"

I looked up at Park's dad stricken! I would never! I may take time to arrive at a decision but once I do, I do not regret nor do I change it. How could Park's dad think that way? He should know me better!

I opened my mouth to say something but found myself unable to do so. I was just stunned. I looked at him, eyes wide open but no words coming out of my mouth.

"Don't frighten him, Pa. I know what's on his mind already. He's already probably cursing you for even doubting him. You know how he is like."

I looked at Park, pouting slightly. He came and stood next to me as Kai leapt into my arms. "I had already told Pa what you had asked me last night. He's just messing with you."

Park looked down at me and just ruffled my hair. I looked over at his dad, who just laughed at me. I nodded as Park said he would get the food for me. Kai ran off with him to get it for me, and I stood up.

"But Forth, more than Kai, you know Park is the apple of my eye. If you hurt my son, you know what will happen."

I looked at him and blinked my eyes, and nodded. He looked at me hard and then finally smiled.

"Im glad it's you. Welcome to the family, Forth."
