Kai's POV
"I don't even know your name, and now I'm working for you? I'm not joining the Mafia!" As she dragged me down the hallway, I screamed and shouted at her, trying to let me go.
"Katana."
"What?"
"Katana Ideolf. My name. I guess you deserve to know it since you’re part of the Mafia now."
Eventually we reached the door and she led me outside to her car. Her Lamborghini. Of course she owned my dream car.
"Get in."
I slid in, in awe of her perfect car. The insides were spotless, except a few briefcases piled up in the back. I didn't want to know what was in them.
"Kai." I turned around to face Katana. "Sorry, it has to be this way."
"Wha..." Before I had the chance to ask what she meant, I felt a sharp prick and the world around me went dark.
Katana's POV
I watched as Kai slumped down into his seat. I almost felt bad, but quickly drowned out my emotions with the loud rock music coming from my car playlist. I hated that this boy was making me feel things. That's not who I was.
We got home late afternoon. As I pulled into the driveway, Kai slowly started to wake up.
"Wha.. whe... Huh?"
"Welcome home." His eyes bulged as he took in the mansion in front of him.
"This is... You live here?!"
"Mhm." I got out and slammed the door, to see my brother waiting for me.
"Dante."
"What the hell Katana?" I heard the car door open behind me and turn to see Kai get out. He sheepishly walked over and stood behind me.
"Katana, he's supposed to be dead. Why on earth is he still alive." Dante looked furious - no different to usual. I thought I saw a slight nod of recognition between Dante and Kai, but I brushed it off.
"Look, Dante, he's a good cop. He might be of use."
"He's still a cop, Katana. He's going to snitch on us. And then what?"
"I've warned him. Trust me, he's not snitching on us any time soon." Dante glared at me, before starting to walking back into the house.
"You better be right, Kat. For his sake and yours." He slammed the door behind him, making Kai flinch.
"Meet my brother. The biggest dick on earth."
