Kai's POV
I picked up Katana's limp body, and carried her over to the Porsche. I gently laid her down in the back, and prayed she was okay.

"Don't fucking die in me, Banana Katana." I felt a tear run down my cheek, as I slid into the passenger seat, next to Yelena.

"She'll be okay, Kai. Kat's strong. She'll be fine."

I took a deep breath to steady myself. "Yeah."

We quickly drove the short way home, and drove up the long driveway. When we reached the house, we quickly got out, and this time Yelena carried her inside. I followed her inside, into what looked like a mini hospital. She gently laid Katana down on a bed.

"We don't have time to call a doctor. I'll have to try and perform the surgery."

"Wait! I did a course a few years ago. I can do it. If... If that's alright?"

She smiled at me, before rushing into a room next door to grab supplies and passing them to me.

"Here. Just tell me what you need me to do."

I quickly got to work, gently pulling out the shards of glass from the wound, and putting them in tray that Yelena was holding. Once I'd got all the glass out, I sanitised the wound, and prepared to take the bullet out. Yelena passed me some large tweezers, and I delicately pulled it out. I triumphantly held it up in the light, then passed it to Yelena. Then I sanitised it again, before slowly stitching the wound up. I also quickly stitched up the wound on her neck, as the plaster hadn't done much to heal it.

"Done. She should be okay now."

"Thank you Kai. So much."

I smiled back at here, and breathed a sigh of relief.

The next morning, we went back into the mini hospital, and sat with Katana.

Her soft breathing was the only sound in the room, until the door burst open. Dante stood there, looking furious.

"I see you're back, Yelena." He spat out Yelena's name like it was poison.

"And the boy's still not dead." He took a step towards me, and I tried to step back, but Katana's bed was in the way.

"Dante, calm down. The cops caught us. Kai saved Katana. He was just helping her."

"He should've just let her die. Our family would be so much better off without her."

Yelena's jaw tightened.

"Get the fuck out of here. Now." I screamed at Dante. God I hated him. I'd never been a confrontational person, but I hated him. For everything he'd done to Katana.

Dante laughed and stepped closer to me.

"Or what?"

"Or I'll make you. Get. Out." Yelena backed me up.

Dante laughed again, before turning around and starting to leave.

"Yelena, just a warning. Don't mess with me. You will regret it."

He left, slamming the door behind him.

I heard a cough, and turned around to see Katana waking up.

Me and Yelena both rushed to her side.

"Kat! Oh my goodness, you're okay." Yelena leaned down to hug her.

"What, were you worried or something?"

"Nah, we knew you'd be fine." Katana laughed in reply, but quickly stopped, and looked scared, as if she’d just remembered something.

"Katana... Are you okay? What's wrong?"

"I... The man that tried to grab me. That you shot. I... I know who he was.

I looked at her, confused. Yelena squeezed Katana's hand to encourage her to continue.

"He was... He was Roberts friend. I remember him from when I was living with Robert. John, he was called, I think." She paused. "I think the whole thing was a set up. Someone knew we were at Bobby's, and called the cops as a distraction. Roberts looking for me."

"I swear to God, if I get my hand on that dick..." Yelena looked furious.

"I'll go see if I can find anything. Maybe I can find the call and trace the number." She started to leave, before turning around again.

"Dante's pretty pissed, isn't he? He came in a minute ago." Kat asked. Yelena nodded, sighed and left.

Kat turned to face me.

"You called me Banana Katana. I heard it."

I laughed, but shook my head.

"Yes you did. I knew you liked it really." She smirked and gave me a cute little smile.

"Fine. Maybe I did." I laughed, and smiled at her.

Her smile dropped, and she looked back up at me.

"You saved my life."

"I was only returning the favour."

She laughed, and moved around in her bed.

"I should let you rest. I'll be back soon. Bye."

I walked out, but not before looking back at her once more.
