The festival in Tempest had ended in resounding success, with cheers and laughter filling the air as everyone celebrated their victory over the invading forces of the Eastern Empire. The citizens of Tempest were in high spirits, feeling triumphant after the first battle. Rimuru had just finished a speech, thanking everyone for their bravery and resilience, when the mood took an unexpected turn.
Velriza stood with Veldora, both enjoying the festive atmosphere, their worries momentarily forgotten. Velriza turned to her brother, smiling. "That was quite the battle, huh? It seems like everyone is finally relaxing."
Veldora chuckled, his usual confidence back. "Of course! Those weaklings from the Eastern Empire never stood a chance against us! We showed them the true power of Tempest!"
But just as Veldora's bravado hit its peak, he suddenly froze. His eyes widened, and his confident smirk melted into a look of sheer panic. He felt a familiar, chilling presence approaching. A presence that sent a shiver down his spine.
Velriza noticed the sudden shift in her brother's demeanor. "Veldora? What's wrong?"
Veldora's voice trembled slightly. "S-She's here..."
Velriza raised an eyebrow. "Who's here?"
Before Veldora could respond, a cold, powerful aura washed over the area. The celebration seemed to pause as if the very air had been sucked out of the room. Citizens of Tempest looked around in confusion, feeling the sudden drop in temperature.
From the sky, a figure descended slowly. Her long, icy blue hair flowed around her like a river of frost, her presence commanding attention and respect. Her expression was calm, but her piercing eyes held an intensity that made even the most formidable beings feel small.
It was Velzard, the True Dragon of Ice, and Veldora and Velriza's elder sister.
Veldora gulped loudly, taking a step back. "Velzard... my dear sister... what brings you here?" he asked, his voice a mix of nervousness and fear.
Velzard landed gracefully, her feet touching the ground as if she were weightless. She turned her gaze to Veldora, and a faint, almost amused smile appeared on her lips. "Why, Veldora... you don't sound very happy to see me," she said, her voice cold and clear like a winter breeze.
Velriza, sensing the tension between her siblings, stepped forward with a friendly smile. "Velzard! It's been a long time. What a surprise to see you here. I assume you came for a visit?"
Velzard nodded slightly. "Yes, Velriza. I came to see you... and Veldora." Her eyes narrowed slightly as she spoke his name, causing Veldora to take another step back.
Veldora laughed nervously. "W-Well, you see, dear sister... we were just... having a little celebration. No need for any... harsh lessons today, right?"
Velzard's expression remained calm, but her eyes seemed to flash with a hint of mischief. "Harsh lessons? Oh, Veldora, are you still afraid of a little discipline? I thought you would have grown out of that by now."
Velriza stifled a giggle, enjoying the sight of her usually confident brother squirming under Velzard's gaze. "Come on, Velzard, you know how Veldora gets when he's around you. He's still traumatized from all the times you 'educated' him in the past."
Veldora shot Velriza a glare. "Hey, whose side are you on?"
Velzard's smile grew slightly. "Relax, Veldora. I didn't come here to 'educate' you this time... unless, of course, you've been causing trouble again."
Veldora immediately straightened up, waving his hands defensively. "No trouble at all! I've been on my best behavior, I swear!"
Velzard turned her attention to Velriza. "And you, Velriza? How have you been faring here in Tempest?"
