Chapter 17

The sound of jaehyun's alarm sounds as he watches the phone ring a couple times before turning it off, he's barely been able to sleep, not knowing why himself, he woke up a few hours before the alarm sounded, getting up quickly he starts getting ready for school
'I could barely sleep, I'll stop by that cafe near the school on my way, I'm pretty sure I have time. Isn't that the cafe Minsoo works at? So what, he's probably not working now, I mean he has school too. Does he still have that flower crown? I think he'd look good if he wore it . I mean, that's cuz...he's usually ugly, yeah. Still, he looked do happy picking those flowers, he must like flowers a lot, I should've taken more pictures of him yesterday. Wait did he enjoy the movie? What if he didn't like the movie! No but he seemed really focused, I don't think he hated it. What drinks does he like? I think he's probably tired too cuz he always stays up all night studying, even when I called him at 2 am he was up. I'll get two coffees' he thinks putting on his outfit, quickly heading out almost forgetting to put his shoes on, lost in his thoughts.

"Welcome, how can I help you?" Asks the barista unbothered
"Two cappuccinos, thanks" says jaehyun taking out his card
"9 dollars" says the barista waiting for him to scan his card, quickly making the coffees so she can go on break.
"Thanks" he leaves, walking fast, almost running to school 'what class do we even have now? It's almost the end of the school year, and yet I still haven't memorised my schedule. I'll be graduating anyway it's no big deal anymore'. He rushes to his seat , putting down the coffees
"Ryung ,what class do we have now"
"I don't know either, It's not that important tho we have enough grades" he answers staring at the coffees "btw since when have you two become so close, just a year ago y'all would be swearing the shit outta each other, now you're basically glued at hip"
"What? No, he still hates me...and I do too! You're wrong." He answers aggressively doodling on his notebook
"Whatever you say"
A few minutes later Minsoo shows up, looking tired as usual
"Knew it, drink this" says jaehyun proud he knew he'd be tired
"Thanks" answers Minsoo chuckling with a soft smile on his face
"Whatever" he continues doodling, Ryung noticing how he's staring at him but not saying anything yet. 'He looks pretty smiling, makes me want to make him smile more, though he's always staying up studying , I'll remind him to go to sleep from now on. No ,wait, I shouldn't, we're not close,right?'
"Alright class, everybody's here, I hope. Open the textbook at page 210, come on wake up everyone." The teacher walks around for another 20 minutes explaining something from the textbook while also ranting about how everyone needs to study to pass.
"Does anyone know the answer to this question?....no one?" He sighs looking more disappointed then ever. "Will any of you even pass?" He plops down on his chair, frantically looking for some papers he put away in the beginning of the class.
Unexpectedly, the lights went out, leaving everyone confused.
"Class, let's not panic, it's just a power outage, the lights will come back on in a few minutes, don't worry." He looks around for a flashlight he doesn't have, in hopes maybe he'd forgotten one there.
'Whats happening, when are the lights coming back on? This is kinda annoying" jaehyun feels Minsoo grasp onto his arm tightly, his first thoughts being telling him to back off, but feeling Minsoo's fingers tremble slightly, he instead runs his hand along his arm in an attempt to confort him. For the next few minutes no one speaks a word, neither of them pulling away, just waiting for the lights to come back on.
"Oh? Finally, they fixed the lights, we can get back to the lesson. What page were we on?" Asks the teacher almost unbothered
"Are you ok?" Whispers jaehyun worried
"I'm alright, no need to worry, and I'm so sorry I didn't mean to, it won't happen again" he replies with a slight smile on his face, then looking apologetic.
"Why are you apologising? It's nothing, I didn't mind.." he mutters gazing at the floor, not noticing Minsoo's heartbeat racing
They both try to concentrate on the class, but neither could. 'I was planning on asking him earlier, but I think we should write that project today, tomorrow we'll be swamped with classes, and the rest of the week since exams are coming soon' jaehyun writes a quick note asking if they should do that project today, sliding it to Minsoo quietly. He writes his answer quickly before sliding it back to jaehyun.
