Chapter 26

Few days have passed, in which jaehyun studied a bit more and Minsoo tried to get used to having a new apartment. They both talked at school about the exam and their plans on passing the exam, tho it wasn't a problem for Minsoo as he'd already known the materials for a long time now. Though the exam felt like it came sooner than it should've.
Jaehyun felt the vibration of the message he got from Minsoo on his phone as he puts his shoes on. Almost loosely tying his shoelaces and hurries to text him back, letting him know he'll be there in a minute. He walks out of his house and towards meeting Minsoo at some corner they decided to meet up on. Waving at him from afar once he manages to see him, jogging a bit to get there faster.
"It felt like the past two days went by so fast... are you ready for the exam?" He asks looking at Minsoo
"I was ready for a long time, the real question is, are you?"
He giggles a bit "yeah, I mean, I don't know if I'll pass but whatever" he says as they walk towards the school, laughing a bit at random jokes to lighten up the mood.
They enter the classroom, a few minutes before the supervisor starts spreading the exam papers across the room, wishing good luck to everyone as he wanders around the desks, checking from time to time if anyone's cheating, few were but didn't get caught. Minsoo manages to solve most problems and questions, even finishing the exam early but still spending the rest of the time just looking over his answers 'did I finish this early cuz I got them right or cuz I missed something?' He looks on both sides of the paper, to see if maybe there was a double side, which there wasn't, but he still felt kinda suspicious of how much time he got left. Jaehyun on the other hand, answers a few questions, leaving most blank but still adding something to the unanswered ones, even if it was wrong, he just waits and looks around the room as he waits for everyone else to finish taking the exam, not knowing if he finished early cuz he knew the answers too well or cuz he didn't know them at all. Time passes and everyone gets up to turn in their papers, the teacher pulling a few students aside, two of them being Minsoo and jaehyun, as he passed by the classroom exactly when they were all getting out too, telling everyone to turn in their unfinished projects by the end of the week that they had a few months ago, the poster project jaehyun and Minsoo never finished. It was the last week to give any grades so the teacher leaved to talk to a few more students about some grades they needed.
"Oh right, we never finished that project, I remember that" says jaehyun walking out of the school
"I almost forgot about it, let's do it at my house in a few days, that should be enough it wasn't much anyway"
"Sure, I'll bring that paper we needed" they walk for a minute or two, seeing most of their class gathered on the sidewalk
"Jaehyun!" Ryung shouts from a few meters away as he notices them walking home, talking with the rest of his classmates about the exam they just took
"So we were talking and do y'all wanna go to out tonight? Like right now? Most of us are going" he says seeing jaehyun approach him
He look back at Minsoo trying to read off his face if he wants to go, seeing Minsoo nod slightly. "Sure"
"Alright, let's wait a few minutes tho, we're waiting for the teacher to finish talking to these two" he points towards a few classmates talking to the teacher about that same project they had.
"Just to clarify, you good with it right? Also what did you do on the exam? I mean I already know but still" he asks looking a bit concerned but mostly calm after Ryung went back to talking with the rest of the class and jaehyun walked back to Minsoo on the other side of the sidewalk
"Did I tell you no? The exam was ok but the question is did you do anything?"
He chuckles a bit "I answered a few questions, I think correctly, the other ones were based on my intuition, now we'll see if it worked"
"You better pass"
"Jaehyun! Let's go" Ryung shouts from across the sidewalk. All of them now walking up to a local club, cracking a few jokes about the exam along the way. The club was small, it was already kinda dark outside and pretty crowded inside the club, music pretty loud. They all went inside, playing a few games, like a roulette game, and a few more all trying to forget about the exam and just have fun for one night as it's all over with the exams finally.
"Ohh, I know this one, wanna play?" He asks pointing towards a roulette game
"Sure, why not" he answers sitting down next to jaehyun . "How do I play?"
"Oh, it's simple, you bet on a number, and if the ball lands on that number you take the shot"
"Oh, alright, I choose....22" he says spinning the roulette. The ball not landing on the number he chose.
"Alright, my turn....hmm....24" he spins the wheel, it landing on 23 rather than 24. "Aw"
"If you used this same intuition on your exam then maybe you might pass, barely....12" he spins the wheel, the ball surprisingly landing on that number.
"Lucky, 23" he says spinning the wheel, watching Minsoo take that shot. The ball not landing on the number he bet on tho he still took a shot.
A few hours have passed "Alright, who's next" asks Ryung, half drunk as they play some card game
"I think it's getting pretty late" says his girlfriend walking up to them, a few more nodding "let's leave in a few minutes" she adds looking at the time, seeing it's almost 2 am, a few classmates agreeing, some wanting to stay, some being too drunk to choose, one of them being jaehyun, who had already played a few of these games, trying to just relax and have fun.
"Minsoo, how about you walk jaehyun home for the night, you seem like you didn't get that drunk, im not sure he can go alone, plus you two seem close enough, this one over here doesn't even know what planet he's on anymore" she says, flinching Ryung as she gathers her stuff off the table.
"Yeah, sure" he says getting up, grabbing both his stuff and jaehyuns. They walk out the club, jaehyuns arm around Minsoo's shoulders, Minsoo grabbing him by his waist so he doesn't fall.
"Where are we going?" He asks, looking at Minsoo with his head tilted
"Home, it's late"
"Well you seem fine, how are you such a heavyweight?"
He chuckles "I don't know"
"A You know, you're always worried about me, and you looks so cute whenever you focus on something. Makes my heart go boom." He says half asleep as they approach jaehyuns house door, Minsoo looking for which pocket he put the key in, turning red and nervous hearing jaehyun say that, knowing he's drunk.
"....I think I love you" he says right before entering the house and closing the door, only to fall asleep half on his bed, half on the floor. Leaving Minsoo kinda shocked.
As he walks towards his apartment, almost taking the wrong route, jaehyuns words keep playing in his head. 'I know he was drunk, but why was I so nervous, I feel like my heart might just jump out.' He thinks walking up the stairs of his apartment complex, eyes still wide
He sights '...I wish he would've said that when he was sober too...........Wait, I wish what?!' He pauses before locking the door behind him, plopping with his back against the wall. '...am I crazy? I thought I hated him? I used to hate him with every inch in me....maybe I just like him as a friend?' He stands here for a second, not knowing how to approach this 'though I can't deny we've been close lately, I mean we're hanging out all the time, but I never realised that.... But why was I feeling so nervous just now? I mean I felt like I might've exploded on my way here....was it because..?...no, maybe I just like being friends? But I'm always acting like that around him....and other friends don't act like that I'm sure.....oh....i think...I might be in love... with him...?' He runs his fingers through his hair, chuckling a bit as the realisation kicks in.
