Chapter 20

"Alright class sit down" says the teacher walking trough the door, carrying a pile of papers, ready to complain about how almost no one seems to be very bothered by the fact that they have their graduation exam coming up. He plops the papers in his desk, assigning whoever was sitting in front of him to distribute them across the class. "Kids, I know you have your own hobbies, and I know you never had an interest in studying, but for your own good at least pass the exam. You all really don't have much time left until that exam, I need everyone to focus these days ok? What do I need to say to convince y'all to study? If you study now it'll be easier on you in collage? Just do your best to at least pass" he starts writing something on the whiteboard, looking back at the class looking more disappointed then ever "on the papers y'all got, there are all the subjects of last years exam, let's analyse it and..." he goes on to explain every part of the exam paper, writing down the titles of every lesson that they would've needed to revise for that exact subject.
Ryung trows a little paper ball at jaehyun, who was just zoning out while leaning with his back against the wall, he picks up the little paper ball, opening it 'what would be the first thing you'd do if you were an ant who can't find its home' he reads, already getting annoyed , he writes him a response 'I'd gather my friends to go climb in ur pants, shut up. Werent you supposed to concentrate?' trowing the paper ball back. Ryung rolls his eyes, looking for another person to ask the same question to
"As you can all see, this problem requires headphones, im pretty sure every desk has at least a pair, I've seen y'all in the break between classes. So just everyone enter the site on one of y'all's phone, and if you don't have any headphones then I'm sure whoever's next to you does, so hurry up" says the teacher frantically flipping the pages of some random book trying to find an example he's about to teach.
Minsoo looking in his bag, looking through every pocket, not finding the old wire headphones he usually used in class for things like this. "Do you have any headphones?" He whispers looking at jaehyun, searching up the site they were supposed to be on.
"Yeah, only a pair tho, does you phone work with this connector?" He replies pulling out the wire headphones he's also had for things like this in class but never used.
"Yeah, it works" the both lean closer to each other, the chatter becoming quieter as they all start listening to the recording, with Minsoo and jaehyun still trying to find what exactly they were supposed to listen to, not noticing how close they both were. The recording starts playing, saying some sentences they were supposed to analyse, only when it got boring jaehyun realised how close together they were standing, he unintentionally started fidgeting with the cap of the pen he was supposed to write with, not paying attention to any of the stuff they were actually supposed to be doing, only being able to think about how close they were standing, Minsoo not noticing any of this as he was too focused on whatever they were listening to.
'Oh god were standing so close? I can't focus on this at all, why am I the only one nervous? Wait why am I nervous... maybe I'm making this weird, he just happened to not have any headphones, I should focus too' he think really trying to focus on the work everyone was already far on, but I guess all the years he's not been paying attention aren't really paying off right now. Though as he stands there trying to find what page they were on, he noticed how Minsoo stopped writing, both of them still standing extremely close to each other, watching as his face slowly turn red as Minsoo also just realised how close he was standing, not daring to move, he slowly covers his mouth with his fingertips, trying to keep the focus that was long lost for the work they were doing. Jaehyun tried to put the pieces together, not seeing it's for the same reason he is nervous too, but just knowing his heartbeat raced faster as he noticed some details he hadn't seen before about him. A moment later the bell rang, everyone got up to go outside, leaving both of them sitting apart from each other, both trying to calm themselves down, with jaehyun almost staring a hole into the wall next to him, and Minsoo trying to look like he was scrolling though an app when he was really just doing around the most random things he could find on his phone to look calm. The teacher sighing at every occasion packing the pile of papers he came to class with
