Chapter 13

Jaehyun gets home, stumbling to get to his room after taking off his shoes too fast. 'Finally, school was so boring today too, how come school wasn't boring when Minsoo was around, well..I probably just like calling him an idiot, yeah' he tries to study by reading whatever they wrote in today's class. 'i can't understand any of this, uh, Minsoo sure would've either pressured me into studying cuz he knows I never do that, or he would've made me study with him, or he would've braved about how he's smarter than me grinning, well, it sure helped, my grades did go up a bit, not enough for them to be a good grade but at least they're one precent more now' he plops on the bed, half giggling half sighing of how bored he is.
'Minsoo's been away for like 2 days now, when's he coming back? Actually, why do I care? I've been thinking about him all day, I need to get my priorities straight, I don't even like him as a friend. But as much as I don't like him... school has been very boring and empty these days without him, uh. Am I going mad? I hated him just like, what , 5 months ago ? It's probably just entertaining to annoy him, yeah, I like seeing the way he gets annoyed so easily' he says laughing, thinking back at all the times he's annoyed him.
'I like the way he gets so annoyed at me calling him names, I just like seeing his face trying to think of a comeback, especially when he fails to find one, also in class when he's trying so hard not to laugh, which makes me laugh even worse' he thinks giggling and looking at the little crocodile plushy Minsoo gave him at the arcade.
'I really like this tiny plushy thingy, not because he specifically gave it to me of course. I just, really like this thingy, it's so cute.' He's still giggling thinking of all those times he's annoyed Minsoo "I wish he was here.." he muttered quietly
'WHAT. Why did I say that?! I wasn't even thinking straight, I just impulsively said that. Uh. What's wrong with me, he hates me..' he thinks immediately getting up, covering his face with his palms. 'I mean, it is true, but what am I even thinking? I should be happy that he's not here, and yet I find myself wishing he was here... I must be going crazy? Yeah, I should go spend time with Ryung. Ofc'
He grabs his backpack and calls Ryung immediately
"Yeah man, what's up?"
"Wanna go out today? I'll pay"
"Sure but why. You don't usually wanna go out straight after school" Ryung asks suspicious
"I just miss you,i haven't spent time with you in a few months"
"Alright where do you wanna go?" He asks picking out an outfit
"I don't know, don't care, let's go, let's meet at the park of something?"
"Sounds good to me, see you in 5" Ryung replies as he hangs up the phone.
'I'll head to the park right now, and I'll just forget about all this, yeah' he thinks walking out the door, altmost forgetting to tie his shoes. Heading to the park
'This should be fine, I'll just wait for him next to the swings, he should be here in about 2 minutes' He's staring at the ground, zooming out, as Ryung tries to get his attention from afar
"Jaehyun! Still here? What were you thinking about?" He says walking up to him
"Just school, let's go" he says walking fast
"Ok but where exactly are we going cuz we're currently walking towards nothing." Ryung says catching up to him
"Oh, yeah, sorry, let's go...to that's cafe?"
"Sure, and again, what's on your mind lately? Especially today"
"Nothing, it's nothing, just that test we got coming up" he asnwers fiddling with the corner of his t-shirt
"No you're not, never once in the last 4 years have you worried about school, you barely passed last year and couldn't care less" he says even more suspicious of jaehyun
"It's really nothing, don't worry about it" they enter the coffee shop.
"What coffee do you want ?" Jaehyun asks looking at all the different types of coffee
"Just americano, what about you?"
"Same"
"Can I take your order?" Asks the barista
"Two americanos"
"Coming right up" she leaves quickly
"So what's been on your mind?"
"I already told you it's literally nothing"
"Sure, you'll tell me eventually"
"I told you, just school"
"No it ain't..., oh thank you" he says as the barista brings their drinks.
They talk about the video games they usually play that jaehyun lost interest in a long time ago, Ryung tried to get him to confess what he was always in his thoughts about but he couldn't get even one word. And they joked around like they usually do.
