Deon's pov

The day had been long and draining, a series of strained interactions and diplomatic maneuverings that left me feeling more than a little frustrated. The ball, despite its supposed grandeur, had turned into a chaotic affair, and the aftermath of Alessandra's outburst was far from resolved. I had hoped that the evening's events would fade quickly, but the reality was that I still had to deal with the consequences.

I walked down the hall toward Lyra's room, my mind filled with the events of the past day. I had given her space, but my concern for her was growing. Harper and Angelo had informed me of their attempts to check on her, but they hadn't been successful. I understood her need for solitude, but I couldn't ignore my responsibility to ensure she felt safe and valued in my home.

I reached Lyra's door and knocked softly, trying to sound as gentle as possible. "Lyra, it's Deon. Can I come in?"

For a moment, there was no response. I could hear faint sounds from within, but they were indistinct. "Lyra, I know you're hurting, and I want to talk. I need to make sure you're okay."

Still, there was no reply. I sighed, feeling a pang of frustration and worry. I turned the handle slowly, finding that the door was locked. "Lyra, I'm coming in. Please, let me in."

I used my key to unlock the door, pushing it open cautiously. The room was dimly lit, and I could see Lyra sitting on the bed, her back turned to me. The sight of her sitting there alone made my heart ache. I walked in slowly, careful not to startle her.

"Lyra," I said softly, trying to keep my voice calm, "I know you're upset, and you have every right to be. But I need to talk to you. We need to address what happened last night."

She turned slightly, her face still showing signs of distress. "I don't want to talk, Deon. I just need to be alone."

I took a deep breath, trying to remain composed. "I understand that you need space, but it's important for us to communicate. What happened at the dinner was unacceptable, and I want to make sure you're okay. I also need to know how we can prevent something like this from happening again."

Lyra's eyes were downcast, and she didn't immediately respond. I continued, "Harper and Angelo have been worried about you. They've been trying to check on you, and I've been informed that you've been avoiding them. They're here to help, and I want to ensure that you're getting the support you need."

She looked up at me, her expression a mix of sadness and defiance. "I'm fine, Deon. I just need some time."

I nodded, understanding her need for solitude, but still feeling a strong urge to help. "I respect that. But please know that I'm here for you if you change your mind. I don't want you to feel alone in this. We'll deal with Alessandra and her family, and I'll make sure that nothing like this happens again."

Lyra didn't respond, but I saw her nod slightly, a small gesture that made me hopeful. I took a step back, giving her the space she clearly needed. "If you need anything, you can reach out to me directly. I'm not going anywhere."

I left her room quietly, closing the door behind me. As I walked down the hall, I felt a renewed determination to address the issues at hand. I would deal with Alessandra and her family, but more importantly, I needed to ensure that Lyra felt safe and valued. Her well-being was a priority, and I was committed to making things right, no matter how difficult it might be.

The drive to Mr. Vico's mansion was tense. I could feel the anger simmering beneath my surface, and the landscape seemed to blur past as I gripped the steering wheel tightly. Vincent and Marco, my trusted associates, were with me, their silence a clear indicator of the gravity of the situation. They understood my fury and were prepared to back me up in whatever confrontation awaited.

When we arrived, I wasted no time. I stormed through the front entrance of the mansion, my anger palpable. The staff and residents looked at me with a mix of fear and confusion as I called out, "Mr. Vico! Where are you?"

The Vico family was visibly anxious. Mr. Vico's son and mother came forward, their faces pale and anxious. They offered repeated apologies, their voices trembling as they tried to placate my rage. Their concern was genuine, but it did little to quell the storm brewing inside me.

I pushed past them, determined to find Mr. Vico. I spotted him in the garden, his back turned to me. As I approached, I could see that he was in the middle of a heated exchange with Alessandra, who wore nothing but a bikini. The sight was infuriating-her casual demeanor in stark contrast to the chaos she had caused.

"Mr. Vico!" I shouted, my voice cutting through the air like a blade.

Mr. Vico turned, his face showing a mix of surprise and apprehension as he saw me storming toward him. Alessandra looked up, her expression shifting from defiance to shock as she saw the rage on my face. She was clearly unfazed by the confrontation, but her nonchalance only fueled my anger further.

"What's the meaning of this?" I demanded, my voice low and dangerous. "Is this how you address the problems your daughter has caused? By showing complete disregard for any sense of decency?"

Mr. Vico stammered, trying to find the right words. "Deon, I... I'm sorry. We've been trying to manage the situation. Alessandra's behavior was unacceptable, and I deeply apologize for the embarrassment and pain she's caused."

Alessandra, meanwhile, stood with a smirk, as if challenging me to do something about it. Her lack of remorse was infuriating. "Why are you making such a big deal out of this? It's just a dinner. You're overreacting."

I took a step closer, my anger barely contained. "This isn't just about a dinner. This is about respect and boundaries. You crossed a line, and I will not tolerate it."

Mr. Vico stepped between us, his hands raised in a placating gesture. "Please, let's discuss this calmly. We can resolve this without further escalation."

I glared at Alessandra, my eyes cold and unyielding. "Your father's attempts at diplomacy won't change the fact that your actions were unacceptable. You need to understand that there are consequences for such behavior."

Alessandra rolled her eyes, clearly dismissive. "Whatever. I don't care."

I took a deep breath, struggling to maintain control. "I expect a formal apology and assurance that this won't happen again. If you can't manage that, then I'll have to take more serious actions."

Mr. Vico nodded vigorously, clearly eager to avoid further conflict. "I understand. We will address this immediately."
