It often takes tough times for you to realize your full potential.

ELIJAH STARLING

"But we're just kids" I tell the guy.

He was being unreasonable, all that yelling really wasn't necessary.

"I don't care what you are, your actions have consequences" The man that made the statement shrugs.

"This is not how I imagined my teenage years to be" Skai groans "I'm too pretty to die"

One more push, and I swear this girl is going to throw a tantrum. These men were being dead serious though, we pay or we drown, the island was still what I'm guessing an hour away, there is no way we could possibly swim, well maybe River could but the rest of us would be fish food.

"Push them off" The guy who I am guessing is the ship supervisor came out of nowhere ordering the two men.

"You'll regret this" Skai warns the guy in a squeaky voice.

Emily can't swim.

I mean we're all going to drown, that's quite inevitable, but Emily won't last 2 minutes.

There didn't seem to be any present passengers on the ship, that's probably why it was so easy to hear us. They had too much time on their hands. Something that we don't have—because we're about to be devoured by whatever lurks in these waters.

I read that the chorlings live in the east of these waters, you go near them and you're probably dead. Although I'm moved to believe it's just a myth.

"I'll push you off if you don't jump yourself" he yells.

"Killing children is barbaric!" Skai yells at him and he laughs.

"Look, I don't get paid enough for this shit" he steps closer to her and River instinctively stood in front of her while Dexter pulled her back. "So, Get. Off. The. Ship" He growls in her face.

"Fine" River steps closer to him easily towering over the dude. "we're getting off"

Dang, we're really about to do this.

I grab Emily's hand and we all walk towards the edge of the ship facing west.

"On three" River takes a deep breath.

"Three" Dexter starts the countdown

"Two" Emily squeezed my hand

"One" River took an audibly deep breath.

"If this is our last moment together, I want you to know that I accidentally used your toothbrush last week River" Skai squeals as we were falling into the water "And it fell in the toilet, I'm sorry!"

I waited to be fully immersed in the water, I held my breath and squeezed Emily's hand tight as my feet hit the water.

But that was it just my feet, I heard the waves hit each other and It felt like I was drowning, just not in the water, my feet hit the floor and confusion immediately struck me.

I open my eyes and look around me.

"No fucking way" Skai gasped.

"Woah" Emily mutters next to me and I release my hold on her hand.

We were protected by some sort of bubble.

The water didn't touch us.

"Woah" River gasps "I did that"

"That's crazy dude" Dexter pats his back.

"Dexter Malachi Bardo, the moment we get to Maver island, I'll personally stomp on you" River sends daggers to Dexter.

"It's not my fault they have good ears." Dexter shrugs and I hit the back of his head.

"You should be working up an apology, not riling him up more" I whisper in his ears and he sighs ruffling his hair.

Skai and River were busy arguing about Skai using his toothbrush.

"Let's just get to Maver Island, we don't know how long River can hold this" I sigh.

"River focus" I tell him as water begins to drip through the bubble

"Shit" he mutters taking the map out of his bag and handing it to Dexter, I don't know if that was one of the best bets but we start the journey through the ocean.

I assist Dexter in reading the map of course, before he leads us to the Chorlings, there wasn't much reading needed to be done to be honest because it was literally just up north.

'wow' 'woah'

Emily and Skai were the most ecstatic out of the five of us, casually pointing at the sea creatures.

The creatures never swam towards us though, it's like the currents were pulling them away.

"Are we close?" River asks "I'm starting to have a serious migraine.

"I honestly don't know" I mutter.

His eyes almost pop out of its sockets figuratively when I gave that response.

"What so you mean you don't know?" he asks faintly.

"Well, we're underwater, we can't see much of the surroundings so map reading is quite useless" I scratch the nape of my neck.

"We just have to keep going forward, we'll get there" Dexter added Emily and Skai nodded in agreement.

"You Bardo, you don't say a word, you got us in here in the first place" River seethed through his teeth.

It starts to feel like we are climbing a hill, and I instantly knew we were on the right path it continued like that for about 10 or 15 minutes before my head was given the privilege to surface Maver island.

When we were all out of the water River fell down and the bubble dropped water splashing on us.

Skai immediately rushed to her brother.

"Help me lift him" Skai urges worriedly and looks at Dexter then at me.
