Beyonce

Los Angeles (Her house)

September 17th, 8:46 PM

(Omniscient POV)

The living room of Beyoncé's house is tastefully decorated, reflecting her elegance and strength. The room is dimly lit by the soft glow of lamps, casting a warm, intimate light. Beyonce dressed casually in comfortable yet stylish attire sits on the sofa, her gaze fixed on the window as she sips a cup of tea. The atmosphere is calm but tense, her mind clearly preoccupied.

The soft chime of her phone disrupts the silence. Beyoncé picks it up, sees a message from Chris, and takes a deep breath before opening it.

"I'm thinking about everything we talked about. Can we meet again tomorrow to discuss the next steps? I want to be involved, but I know we need to talk specifics."

Beyoncé sets her phone down, her expression a mix of contemplation and weariness. She takes another sip of her tea, lost in thought.

Chris

Los Angeles (His house)

September 17th, 8:50 PM

The kitchen is modern but sparsely decorated. Chris sits at the kitchen table, staring at a half-eaten dinner. He's clearly distracted, his mind racing with thoughts of the upcoming meeting with Beyoncé. His phone buzzes with a reminder for their meeting, and he picks it up with a sigh.

"Tomorrow. We need to get this right. For the baby." Chris mutters to himself. He sets his phone aside and takes a deep breath, trying to calm his nerves as he looks around his empty house, the reality of his situation sinking in.

Cafe Grande

September 18th, 9:00 AM

The cafe is quaint and welcoming, with a rustic charm. It's early, and the morning sun filters through the large windows, casting a warm light on the tables. Beyoncé and Chris sit across from each other at a small table near the window. The atmosphere is tense but polite, as they both sip on their coffees, preparing for a difficult conversation.

"Chris, I'm glad you agreed to meet. We need to figure out how to move forward from here. For the baby's sake." "I understand. I know this is a lot to process, and I want to make things right. We need to talk about how we're going to handle everything," Chris says while nodding, taking a deep breath.

"Yes. We need to discuss how we're going to co-parent, and what kind of involvement you want to have. This isn't just about us anymore; it's about our child."

Chris looks down at his coffee, stirring it absently.

"I want to be involved. I know I made mistakes, and I can't undo the past, but I want to be there for the baby. I want to support you and be a part of their life."

"That's a start. But we need to establish some boundaries and responsibilities. I need to know how you plan to be involved and what role you're willing to play. It's not just about showing up; it's about being present and committed." She doesn't want her child to grow up with a father who comes every other birthday and sends money, she desires the full hands-on experience.

"I'm ready to take responsibility. I want to be there for doctor's appointments, for milestones, for everything. I know it won't be easy, but I'm willing to make the effort."

Beyoncé considers his words, a mixture of hope and skepticism in her eyes.

"Alright. Let's start by setting up a co-parenting plan. We need to discuss schedules, responsibilities, and how we'll handle things as they come. Communication will be key and I need that mainly from you."

They both sit in contemplative silence for a moment, the weight of their conversation hanging in the air. The atmosphere is still tense, but there's a glimmer of hope in their determination to make things work for the sake of their child.

"Let's start with a schedule. We can decide on how often we'll meet, how we'll handle appointments, and what our roles will be. We need to be clear about everything."

"Sounds good. I'm ready to get started. Let's make this work."

As they begin to discuss the details, there's a sense of cautious optimism. Both Beyoncé and Chris are aware of the challenges ahead, but they are united in their desire to provide a stable and loving environment for their child.

A/N- Thank you for reading Chapter 5 of Pray You Catch Me. This is just a short chapter to get the ball rolling in their 'marriage' getting repaired in a sense. Any feedback is welcome.
