Mirabel! Skull from the Madrigals (Encanto) uses male pronouns.
There was nothing special about the civilian strongest Cloud in their midst besides the fact he shouldn't be here.
He whined and protested at the slightest inconvenience, be it empty cabinets when in the middle of making breakfast to being shot at by them in the middle of the night for awareness training.
He had next to no control over his territorial Flames that sporadically brushed against their tightly-wound space. Leaking from every pore to make every space he occupied his, arrogantly telling them he belonged no matter what as if it was his right.
He ran when a gunfight started, he backed down at the slightest challenge.
He was nothing compared to them.
There was nothing that stood out, bar the obscene ability where he could take the most fatal of hits known to man, compared to them and remain standing - as seen with Reborn's Chaos Shot hitting him when an enemy managed to use Skull as a meat shield. Where the shot would've gone clean through with that measure in any other situation, the blast stopped with Skull.
Skull, who didn't die from that shot.
Skull, who hid behind Fon even as the other's body sputtered with furious Red. Whose body repaired itself with purple flames spreading over the highest degree of Sun-/ Storm-burns like a soothing balm in an instant.
Afflictions and injuries that would kill if not amputee someone to machines/ Mist flames for the rest of their lives, were of no consequence to him.
No outer or inner poison held him, no drug slowed him down.
Nothing to stop him.
That, they all acknowledged, was special. That made him dangerous.
He was their antithesis, so to say.
Where Fon ripped up everything around him Skull was the single healthy leaf swaying serenely.
Where Reborn scorched the ground with his glare, Skull cowered but remained within his sights.
If Viper went too far into their greed with half-truths, Skull saw right through them and pulled the miser Mist back down to Earth.
Skull didn't even bat an eye with Verde trying to kidnap or poison his tea anymore, he just sat him down and made the other question him about what he wanted to know like a doctor's appointment, effectively forcing the Lightning to slow down from his rampant mind, pulling at his humanity and social skills like an etiquette lesson. Forcing him to go with Skull's pace. Center himself as he drifted a little once in a while.
If Colonello wanted attention, Skull was right there with him and let him play the hero, knowing full-well he wanted to impress, be acknowledged as belonging with the Arcobaleno and wanting to stay with Lal.
As for Lal, it was perhaps easiest with her. She was pragmatic and had an eye for details. She did a lot of stuff on her own, wanting and proving herself countless times to be independent; not needing help. Skull knew one just like her. So he'd simply sit with her when she was alone in the living room, quietly letting the TV play in the background as a presence to talk to. It was her choice if she opened up, but he made the option available in any form there was.
...
Luce, he well and truly had no idea how to act around, mostly because she reminded him of his grandmother.
His abuela was always there, always watching with an idea about her family, correcting them like dolls when they went 'off-script': displaying an untidy appearance or unwelcome behavior, casting aside anyone that strayed an inch too far. His old self had never fit in her world, and her family didn't dare stand against the old matriarch, so, left with little choice, had opted to leave them.
He doesn't know who will miss him, if anyone will. He hopes some will at least remember the girl he used to be, but he holds no delusions that none will go into the wide world to search for her.
It's really no wonder that Skull squirmed under scrutiny, when people saw something that didn't fit, and his hackles raised. The way people called his name overlapped with one unknown to the wide majority of the world.
