"Can someone tell me what he's doing?"
"Hm?"
A finger was raised upwards, pointing to the ceiling. "He's been sitting there throughout the whole day, for no reason.
It's not even for any security reason. He's just staring."
"Hmm, well maybe he's Cloud gazing?" He was met by a frown, a kick and a sharp glance. "Sorry, bad joke. Shutting up now."
"I mean, it could be?" The frown turned into a contemplative look. "Kyoya also likes to sleep on the roof just facing the sky."
"At least he's being quiet about it. Is that all?"
A hum answered.
"Wait." Apparently he didn't learn his lesson of keeping his mouth shut. "The whole day? Without food?"
Clack.
The sound came from the kitchen, where a window unlatched and they tersely observed a wiggly thing enter.
A small, armed, purple octupus.
They watched it bring in a box, open the lower cabinet and throw it in the trash. As it climbed back through the window it waved two tentacles before leaving.
They raised a brow in response.
"...Guess that answers that. Is he doing a picnic up there??"
"He's done weirder stuff." Reborn said, lowering his fedora to signal the end of the conversation.
Collonello's face scrunched up at the hitman, more out of confusion than annoyance. He sent a silent plea to Fon, who seemed strangely amused at Reborn's action. Lal beat him to it, taking pity on her student's lack of information.
"We once tasked him to shadow a press conference and he got all kinds of stuff: footage, video, even clothing articles and snacks off the targets. Nobody even saw him and he wasn't on the video feed for any of it."
"Pretty sure I saw him try to put an entire tree in his room before Luce stopped him." Fon comments.
"...doesn't he have one in there now?"
"Yes. He got it in right after we were cursed. Luce couldn't stop him this time, likely cause he pressured her with her guilt."
"Speaking of," Lal inquires, gaze traveling over her present bond mates "who taught him that trick?"
"Not me." Reborn denied, acknowledging himself as prime suspect as all eyes were pinned on him.
Fon shook his head and Colonello raised a brow; he hadn't even been with the group long enough at that point to teach him anything.
"What'd he need a tree for anyways, couldn't he have used a plastic plant or something?"
Fon's smile dropped as he raised a hand to his mouth, thoughtful. Eventually, he shrugged his shoulders. "I don't know, he never mentioned it afterwards."
There was a loud yell outside.
While that would normally be a cause for alert, as it stood, it was Skull; their clumsy, incessantly noisy, adenaline-junkie Cloud. The same one who delved into loud cursing of 'Why me' and 'can't destiny schmestity give me a go~..shdamn break?!'
Then, as Fon, Lal and Collonello looked at the floor to ceiling glass-door to hear more he suddenly cut off. Just as they were starting to believe his tantrum was done his face popped up outside the window.
Collonello yelped in surprise.
His face was... was it down? Yes, he was upside down, hanging from who knows where to look at them.
