Skull attended a Comicon with Uni. If anyone asked for the reason he'd just tell them that his niece wanted to do stuff "kids her age" did and this was the first thing that took her interest.
Of course, her official Guardian and caretaker (and unofficial Father-figure) Gamma didn't allow her to go alone, even if it was deemed safe for kids and there were lots of people followed by a somewhat acceptable security (by their standards).

Skull was the first to volunteer, along with Colonello who took it as an opportunity to have fun. They weren't the only ones going, a childish Mare and Marshmallow addict had gotten himself, Tsuna and Enma involved.

They met each other at separate parts of the convention, sometimes one of the Skies helped watch Uni for the 2 Arcobaleno so they could do their own stuff for a while i.e. going on the WC, getting food, making a phone call or just going to check out a stand for themselves.

The latter is something Skull did when Byakuran offered to show Uni to a stand titled 'Sailor Moon', saying the two had similarities. Seeing no problem with it Skull left them to it and wandered around for an hour, just observing and shortly listening in on what people had to say. It's how he mostly got his info when he'd been dragged into the Mafia, he still had that habit and currently decided on using it to see if something could catch his interest.

He stumbled upon a stand, almost looking deserted, with a girl kicking up in a fuss. He went closer to her as she seemed distressed. He didn't want a (possible) sudden problem to ruin the fun for Uni or anyone.
She was on the phone, talking to someone. Upon closer inspection, she seemed like a student, maybe 16, and was the only one there.

"What do you mean sick?! He was supposed to do it with me today!... Got too excited and couldn't sleep? Really?" She deadpanned the other.

Skull could only sympathize with her and the guy - he'd had encountered the same problem often, not only by himself but also his subordinates. Sometimes it just sounded too ridiculous to him.
The fact that he was in the Mafia that is.

"Well can someone sub?.. No? Then how are we supposed to-?....
Get the audience to do it? Are you crazy?!.. Hello?... Hello?!" Clearly the person on the other line had hung up. "Damn Senpai."

"I whole heartedly agree to that, don't they just annoy you when they push all their work on you and demand you get the job done?"
"Exactly!"

"...."
"..."

"Who-*cough* Do you want something, Mister?" Skull felt a little offended, he's not that old (well, physically wise) to be called 'Mister'.

"Yes, to help you. I couldn't help but notice you were having some sort of problem."

"Well, it would be great if you could but I don't want to push anything on you.."

"Well, not that I think you would, but how about you tell me what your stand is for so we can see about that?"

"..Don't laugh ok? It's a stand from my school club for Anime and Manga. We were planning to reenact some of the most popular scenes and lines from them and present it to the audience. Except, I'm the only one who could make it as the one who was supposed to do the male lines called in sick... "

"Well, if you know his lines or have a script I could try them with you to see if it could work? Maybe some others would like to do it afterwards."

"I have his script... we brought all the stuff prior so only the male voice actor was missing--"

"Great!"

Skull and the girl, Mia, then proceeded to practise the lines they wanted to try before Skull stumbled upon a certain one.
It was kinda ironic considering what it was about but for him it was absolutely perfect.
