"...Upper two?" I was shocked. I didn't ever think I would even hear of someone running into a rank that high, but here we were, most likely less than a mile from one.
"Are you serious? Where the hell is Iguro??" Sanemi didn't seem to believe him at first, but Giyuu had a look that just made you know he was telling the truth. 'Oh crap. Were screwed.'
"It's a tall white demon, he had red all over him and hair like... a pine tree?" He sounded confused at the last part, and I was to by how he described it. Sanemi facepalmed while I just thought of someone having hair like that.
"How does that even look?? What kind of reference is that??" I asked with serious questioning in my voice, Giyuu just shrugged and tried to come up with a better example.
"You guys are so stupid, thats the least important thing right now. Theres a strong ass demon out there, and we need to kill it." Sanemis usage of the word 'we' reminded me what we were arguing about moments earlier.
"Ya ok umm I take it back I'll be more then happy to skip my way back to the hotel room." Giyuu and Sanemi looked at me skeptically, like they both wanted to say something but were also fighting against it. "What?"
Giyuu took a deep breath before speaking, "The master said if we ran into a higher ranking demon, to have you present to heal us when we need it." Sanemi looked anywhere but the two of us, like he wasn't involved with this at all. I glared at him before turning my attention back to Giyuu.
"Ok well... uumm... uuh..." I couldnt think of an excuse. The orders were orders. Even though I didn't feel like dying this particular day. 'But who am I to have free will.' "I cant think of an excuse."
Sanemi rolled his eyes as Giyuu looked around, on high alert. "Good. You're staying here then." I groaned in annoyance before he got serious and looked me dead in the eyes, "if you get seriously hurt though, I will kill you."
"You said that last time remember." I shoved him and smiled, remembering the time it was just us and we were just getting used to each other.
"That never happened idiot." He snapped back at me and turned his head away from me, as I pointed and laughed at him just to piss him off.
"So Giyuu, wheres pine tree head?" Before he could even respond, I felt an intense presence behind me, which sent a shiver down my spine and made my blood go cold. I was to frozen in place to turn around, but Giyuu and Sanemis reactions said it all.
"Who might pine tree head be~" I felt a hand on my shoulder and jumped upon the touch. 'Upper two...'
Sanemi pov:
There he was. Right behind y/n. She was frozen in fear as he spoke behind her. She didn't turn around, but I could tell she knew who it was. Or what it was.
I felt worry and anger wash over me at the same time. But also for the first time in a while... fear... 'what the hell I'm not scared.'
He touched y/ns shoulder, which made her face turn even paler, if that was possible. She was visibly shaking and I could tell she wouldn't hold out much longer. I glanced over at Tomioka who was also already in stance with his katana. Only problems were now y/n, and Iguro. Where the he was, I had absolutely no idea. But a crow would surly lead him here. And if it didn't, id kill him later. 'If I could.'
The demon smiled creepily at us and raised one of his sharp fingernails to y/ns neck, making her flinch. He made a small scratch with the tip of his nail, and blood started slowly coming out of the opening. Y/n looked like she was on the brief of passing out, and there wasn't much we could do. I felt so useless it was driving me insane.
