𝐊𝐢𝐦𝐢𝐤𝐨 𝐥𝐞𝐚𝐧𝐞𝐝 𝐡𝐞𝐚𝐯𝐢𝐥𝐲 𝐚𝐠𝐚𝐢𝐧𝐬𝐭 𝐭𝐡𝐞 𝐜𝐨𝐥𝐝, crumbling wall, using it as a support to keep herself moving forward. Her injured leg throbbed with each step, the pain shooting up her thigh and making it nearly impossible to put any weight on it. She bit her lip to keep from crying out, refusing to show any more signs of weakness than she already had. The rough, uneven surface of the wall scraped against her fingers, but she didn't care. It was the only thing keeping her upright.
On top of that, she felt like she just spent some weeks in Antarctica for vacation. She was sure her bones were nearly all covered by frost, even after turning off the cooling system, making her shiver almost uncontrollably and amplifying her discomfort. She wrapped her arms around herself briefly, trying to muster some warmth as she paused to catch her breath. The adrenaline that had fueled her during the fight was wearing off, leaving her feeling drained and vulnerable.
The redhead glanced down at her injured leg, her tights stained a faint line of blood from where the pin had sunk in and a horrible green and black bruise with red vines started to appear. It wasn't as bad as the pain she was feeling but the sight was almost disgusting to look at.
She cursed under her breath, her face twisting in annoyance for letting such a thing happen to her. She said it wasn't supposed to last more than five hours. How the hell am I supposed to walk during those five hours? She thought as she recalled the conversation she had with the female villain she abandoned upstairs.
As Kimiko struggled up the stairs, leaning against the wall, she suddenly heard a familiar voice echo through the empty building. "Kimiko!"
Her eyebrows furrowed in confusion as she glanced around, not entirely sure if she was hearing things in her exhausted state. But then, through the haze of pain and fatigue, she saw two figures rushing toward her—Kirishima and Bakugo.
Kirishima's usually bright and cheerful expression was now filled with worry as he jogged up the steps, while Bakugo looked irritated, his usual scowl deeper than ever.
"Kirishima, Bakugo," she muttered, her voice laced with exhaustion but carrying a hint of her usual bravado. "I thought I was the only one in this zone. Glad you could make it in one piece." She felt the tension on her shoulders slightly lifting at the sight of her two classmates. She was extremely relieved that she wasn't really alone.
Bakugo's eyes twitched in annoyance, his scowl deepening at her remark. "Tch, who do you think I am? Of course, those low-life villains wouldn't stand a chance against me," he snapped, crossing his arms as he glared at her.
The redhead deadpanned. What did I expect, huh?
Kirishima, ever the kinder of the two, approached the girl and gave her a concerned look, his brows furrowing. "Doesn't look like that was your case, though," he said, his voice gentle but firm. His eyes briefly flicked to her injured leg. "What happened to you?"
Kimiko chuckled weakly, the sound tinged with both defiance and exhaustion. "That's the doing of a villain's quirk. A pin filled with poison sunk in my tight which rendered it useless," she explained, internally wincing when noticing the boys' eyes trailing on her injured tight. "I am pretty much a disabled person, now."
