𝐊𝐢𝐦𝐢𝐤𝐨 𝐬𝐭𝐫𝐨𝐥𝐥𝐞𝐝 𝐝𝐨𝐰𝐧 𝐭𝐡𝐞 𝐡𝐚𝐥𝐥𝐰𝐚𝐲, 𝐡𝐚𝐧𝐝𝐬 shoved casually into her pockets, her steps echoing faintly in the quiet corridor. The light from the overhead lamps reflected off the polished floor, giving the scene an almost serene quality, though the tension humming through her veins was anything but calm.

The hero's eyes narrowed, his face a mask of seething anger. His grip tightened again, this time with a dangerous intensity as if he was trying to squeeze the very defiance out of her. "You think you have a choice in this?" His voice was a low, thunderous growl, each word heavy with authority. "I refuse to let you stay here even a second longer, Kimiko. You shamed my name enough already!"

She took her hands out of her trousers' pockets to link them behind her head. Fuck, I'm so damn excited about it. Then, her expression turned sour, her eyebrows furrowing in deep thoughts. But at the same time... Was it really a good idea to fire him up like that? she wondered, a twinge of doubt creeping in.

She'd wanted to prove a point, to show she wasn't afraid of him anymore, but she couldn't shake the thought that her defiance might've made things worse. Endeavor wasn't the type to let things slide, especially when it came to his—well... failures.

What took me to speak back to him, huh? She couldn't pinpoint the exact moment, the exact feeling, that had driven her to confront him so boldly. Was it frustration? Anger? Or just the overwhelming need to break free from his shadow?

Aizawa straightened up and turned to face a bewildered Kimiko. "You shouldn't be afraid of what your father will do, Kimiko. Whatever your motives for entering U.A. are, you've shown us that you earned your spot in the hero course during the entrance exam. You've shown remarkable talent and determination. Even though it seems as if that determination is more driven by the grades than the will to improve yourself."

"As long as I'm your homeroom teacher and Nezu is the principal, you're not going anywhere. Your father has no power over our school, much less our decisions."

"I'll become the number one hero without using Endeavor's fire quirk," he continued, his voice sharp and unyielding. "I'll be stronger than All Might by just using my ice quirk. That's my goal. That's why I'm here."

Kimiko's steps faltered slightly as a realization settled over her, her furrowed brows relaxing into a softer, more contemplative expression. Sho-kun... She talked back because Endeavor loomed over her brother like a shadow for his four years, twisting everything into a fight for dominance or control. Shoto didn't deserve that, and she couldn't stand idly by while their father's influence weighed him down. The redhead could only guess something in her... snapped.

A chuckle escaped her and a rare grin tugged the corner of her lips. It's because of you that I'm about to die at the hands of our old fart of a father, huh? Why am I not surprised?

After all—even if she doesn't voice it out often or even show it, Kimiko's world revolves around her twin brother and his safety. One of the two reasons she decided to work harder than usual and have uncommon days for a high schooler in Japan by enrolling in U.A.—which she regrets at least every two days—is to stay beside Shoto. And hearing him wanting to destroy himself just to prove a point intensified her need to have her brother by her side every time. He may not talk to her anymore, heck not even see her as his sister, but as long as she has him in her sight she's good.
