𝐀𝐬 𝐭𝐡𝐞 𝐟𝐢𝐫𝐬𝐭 𝐥𝐢𝐠𝐡𝐭 𝐨𝐟 𝐝𝐚𝐰𝐧 𝐛𝐞𝐠𝐢𝐧𝐬 to break, the sky over Japan transforms into a gentle gradient of pinks and oranges, casting a warm glow over the landscape. The sun slowly rises above the horizon, its rays filtering through the dense foliage of ancient cherry blossom trees and bamboo groves, creating a serene and picturesque scene.

The sound of birds chirping fills the air, a natural symphony that accompanies the start of a new day. From a distance, the gentle gurgle of a stream or koi pond can be heard, adding to the peaceful ambiance. Occasionally, the soft rustling of leaves in the breeze adds a delicate harmony to the morning's soundtrack.

Kimiko's eyes fluttered open as a delicate ray of sunshine passed through the windows and rested over her face. A whine escaped her as she rolled over her futon, the covers scattered all over the mattress. 

"Come on, Kim-chan. Mom is waiting for us."

The five-year-old girl loved her older sister. Truly. She was kind, smart, and pretty, and played with her sometimes. However, at that moment she wished Fuyumi was sleeping in another room. 

Whining, she turned her back to an amused Fuyumi. "I will eat breakfast later."

One of the main reasons Kimiko Todoroki hated morning was because of the coldness that would flow over the air during the first hours. She abhorred mornings with as much passion as she disliked being in the same room as their father.

With a sigh, the white-haired teen decided to use the ultimate card. "Dad is not here for two days, you will be eating breakfast with Shoto for that long."

At the mention of her twin, Kimiko's eyes opened wide in shock before abruptly turning toward Fuyumi, a trail of drool escaping the corner of her lips as her mouth was slightly ajar. "For real?"

Seeing the oldest nodding with a genuine smile on her face, Kimiko's lips stretched until showing her white teeth. Her turquoise eyes glimmered in joy as she quickly pushed the covers away from her.

"Good morning, Nee-chan!" She greeted before dashing out of the room toward the bathroom next door.

Left alone for a while, Fuyumi chuckled heartedly at her sister's antics. "Good morning, Kim-chan." The joy that would wash over Kimiko at the mention of their father being away for work would impact everyone inside the household. Kimiko was a little ray of sunshine inside the cold house and Fuyumi couldn't be more glad her sister grew like that.

"SHOOO-KUN!" She shouted like never before, her voice ringing in the quiet morning air. Her face lit up with pure happiness as she saw her twin brother in the kitchen. She waved her arms wildly, unable to contain her excitement.

Seeing the smile that plastered itself on his face when she called his name, Kimiko quickened the pace -- she was running like crazy -- until she reached her dear twin brother. She threw her arms around his waist and pulled him in a bone-crushing hug.

She felt Shoto do the same as he buried his face in the crook of her neck. "Good morning, Kimi-chan." Kimiko could feel his lips stretching, bringing her joy knowing her brother was smiling.
