Jieun had been pacing her room for what felt like hours. The steady beat of rain against the windowpane only made her more restless. Her parents had left earlier that morning to visit her aunt who had gone into labor, leaving her alone with her brother for the weekend.
That was all fine. Until now.
She knew what was outside that door—Jungkook. Her heart sped up just thinking about him. It wasn't the first time they had been alone, but it was the first time they had been alone after doing the most sinful things inside that house.
Still, Jieun couldn't help it. His lips on hers, the way he'd looked at her afterward—like he knew exactly what was running through her mind... it was hard to resist. And now, her parents wouldn't be back until Monday. They'd be together this way for the next two days.
Jieun leaned against the door, closing her eyes and taking a deep breath. She wasn't sure what she expected, but every possibility made her pulse quicken.
She shook her head, trying to push those thoughts away. They'd only just figured out how they felt about each other. It wasn't like they were suddenly going to—
A knock at the door snapped her out of her spiral.
"Jieun?" Jungkook's voice came through the door.
She exhaled slowly before opening it. Her brother stood there with a lazy smile on his face. He looked so calm, so normal.
"Dinner's ready," he said, his dark eyes watching her closely.
"Right, dinner," she nodded, realizing she hadn't eaten since lunch. Her stomach twisted, not with hunger, but nerves. She swallowed before passing by him. He kept that smile on his face, she sensed, as he followed her slowly.
Jungkook had thrown together something simple but delicious, and Jieun forced herself to focus on the meal. It was hard to keep the conversation light when all she could think about was the fact that they were alone in the house, making her hyper-aware of everything, even the slightest of their movements.
She could feel his eyes on her occasionally, and she wondered if he was thinking the same things she was. But neither of them said anything about that. They did the dishes together in near silence with the occasional glances exchanged.
After what felt like forever, Jungkook dried his hands and turned to her, a sly smile on his face. "You okay?"
"Yeah," she smiled nervously. "Just thinking about how quiet it is."
"Mm," he agreed, leaning on the counter next to her. "Quiet's not so bad, though. Gives us time to hang out... Without interruptions."
His words, though innocent, made her heart race. Was he implying something, or was it just her mind going there?
