Jungkook's POV

The clock on my office wall ticked past 11 PM, and the office was eerily quiet. I'd been drowning in paperwork and meetings all day. My secretary, Jung Hae-in, had long since headed home, but I was still buried in tasks. I hadn't eaten anything since breakfast, and the hunger was starting to gnaw at me.

Hae-in poked his head into my office one last time, looking concerned. "Sir, it's getting late. You should really eat something before you head home."

I waved him off, trying to focus on the pile of documents in front of me. "I'm fine, Hae-in. Just need to finish this."

He gave me a disbelieving look but nodded and left for the night. I kept working, but the hunger was becoming impossible to ignore.

Suddenly, my phone buzzed, breaking the silence. It was a call from Y/N. I hesitated for a moment. I didn't want her to worry, and I definitely didn't want her to come over and see me in this state. But I couldn't lie to her—she always saw right through me.

I answered the call. "Hey, mon chéri."

"Hey, kook," she said, her voice filled with warmth. "How's your day going?"

"Busy," I replied, trying to sound upbeat. "Just finishing up some work."

There was a pause on the other end, and I could almost picture her frowning. "Have you eaten anything today?"

I sighed, knowing I was caught. "um yeaah-"

"really?"

okay. fine.

i cant lie to her.

i gulped speaking up "not since breakfast".

"Oh, Jungkook!" she exclaimed, sounding both worried and exasperated. "You need to eat! I'm coming over to make sure you get something."

Before I could protest, the call ended. I stared at my phone, shaking my head with a mix of amusement and resignation. Y/N was on her way, and there was no stopping her once she'd made up her mind.

I returned to my paperwork, trying to finish up as quickly as I could.

after some time, the door to my cabin swung open with a dramatic flair, and in walked Y/N, carrying a takeout bag and looking like she was on a mission.

"Alright, where's the kitchen?" she said, her hands on her hips as she surveyed the room with a bag in her hand.

I stood up, feeling both grateful and slightly embarrassed. "You didn't have to come all the way here. I could've—"

"Nope!" she cut me off, already marching towards the tiny office kitchenette. "I know you, Jungkook. You'd have worked through the night without eating if I hadn't come."

I chuckled, watching as she pulled out various containers from the bag. "You really know me too well."

She gave me a pointed look as she started to unpack the food. "Well, someone has to. You're hopeless."

I smiled, feeling my heart swell at the sight of her. Even in the midst of a mountain of work, seeing Y/N here made everything seem better.

As she set up a small spread on my desk, she glanced at me with a playful grin. "You know, you're lucky I love you. Otherwise, I'd have let you starve to teach you a lesson."

I laughed, reaching for the food she had laid out. "I think I'm the luckiest guy in the world."

She gave me a gentle nudge as she sat down beside me. "Now eat up. I don't want to hear any more excuses."
