(Y/N'S POV)
It had been four days since I arrived in London, and everything still felt surreal. The city was beautiful, but there was a lingering sense of unfamiliarity. I was staying in a massive apartment with my uncle and Soobin, a place that felt too grand, too quiet, despite the constant hum of the city outside.
My uncle had been nothing but kind, making sure I was comfortable and settled in. Soobin, on the other hand, was... well, Soobin. His playful banter and easygoing nature made things a little less daunting. Still, there was something about being so far from home, from Jungkook, that made my chest tighten every time I thought about it.
The apartment was on the top floor of an elegant building, complete with floor-to-ceiling windows that offered a breathtaking view of the city skyline. Everything about this place screamed luxury—the kind you'd see in magazines. But even with all that beauty around me, there was a part of me that couldn't shake the feeling of missing home.
Missing him.
Uncle had been busy with work most of the time, leaving Soobin and me to explore the city when we weren't lounging around the apartment. We'd visited some landmarks, eaten at a few cafes, and even spent an afternoon shopping. But no matter how much fun we had, there was this constant pull in my heart.
I missed Jungkook.
As I sat in the spacious living room, the early evening light spilling through the windows, I couldn't help but scroll through my phone, glancing at the messages from him. We'd texted every day, video called a few times, but it wasn't the same.
"Y/N, stop looking so gloomy," Soobin teased as he flopped down next to me on the couch. "You're in London! The least you can do is enjoy it."
I rolled my eyes but smiled. "I know, I know. I am enjoying it. It's just... different."
"Different how?" He leaned back, resting his head on the cushions.
I sighed, staring out at the glowing city below. "I miss home. I miss... Jungkook."
Soobin raised an eyebrow, a knowing smirk playing on his lips. "Ah, so it's him you miss."
I nudged him playfully, but he wasn't wrong. "Yeah... I guess it's just weird being away for so long. We've never spent this much time apart."
"You're acting like it's been months," he teased again, but his tone was softer this time. "You'll see him soon. Besides, isn't this a good opportunity to, like, focus on yourself for a bit? You know, have some 'me' time?"
I smiled at the thought, though the ache in my chest didn't fully fade. "Yeah, maybe you're right. But still, it's hard."
Soobin gave a soft chuckle before stretching out lazily. "I get it. You two are like, inseparable. But I'm sure he's fine. Probably sulking around without you, but fine."
"Don't even say that," I laughed, shaking my head. "I know he's working hard, probably keeping himself busy with all his projects."
Soobin grinned mischievously. "Or missing you like crazy."
I couldn't help but blush at that. "I hope not too much."
But deep down, I knew Jungkook was probably feeling just as lost without me. We had this way of needing each other, of finding comfort in each other's presence. And now that I was so far away, it felt like a part of me was missing.
Soobin's phone buzzed, pulling him out of his playful mood. He glanced at the screen and groaned. "Looks like Uncle wants to have dinner with some colleagues tonight. You in?"
