Talia's Pov
Edores takes me to a secluded part of the airport. I said bye to Mack, Alice, and Julia before coming here. I'll miss them and most likely won't see them again but no harm in hoping I suppose.
"No this is too obvious. Follow me into a bathroom stall and act as discreet and nonchalant as possible." She walks off and I follow her slowly.
I follow her into a stall, and she locks it before looking back at me. The two of us have dark tired eye bags and cried for the past two nights while getting ready to leave. I feel horrible about what happened. She wouldn't be forced to leave if I never came here or if that dumbass Edwin never talked to us.
"Okay, are you ready?"
"Yeah. I suppose I do miss Mom." I chuckle to lighten the mood, and she follows along. Good. I can't have her being upset right now; she needs to stay strong.
"You know I won't be able to talk to you until things settle down here, right? Until whatever Edwin needs me to do ends. And I have no clue how long that's going to be." Edores mumbles the last part.
"It's okay. I'll write you little notes and letters and when I see you next, I'll give them to you as if we never parted in the first place."
"Goddam I'll miss you. I love you so much. Thank you for staying with me for so long." She squeezes me into a hug and I squeeze back showing how appreciative I am of her.
"Thank you for letting me. I love you too. And thank you for introducing me to your world."
"Okay this might feel weird, just ignore the sensation in your body and stay as still as possible for a moment." I nod at her words and watch her spawn a waterfall from the top of the bathroom stall that floats down to the ground without touching it. I watch my reflection and glance at Edores while staying still. She nods at me to walk into it.
"You won't get wet relax, it's just a momentary feeling. I'll miss you. Don't speak."
I smile at her anyway and watch as the water-door-like thing moves towards me with Edores' hand gesture. It covers over me and everything goes silent. I feel a weird wind-like thing in my chest but ignore it. I close my eyes to slow down my heartbeat and it works. I open my eyes once the sensation disappears and look around my surroundings. I see my mom's familiar house. My house. The house I haven't been to in over seven months. I grin and walk inside. She always leaves the door unlocked, crazy mother.
"Talia! You're back! What happened? Edores' mom didn't say you were coming back?" My mom appears from the kitchen in her "Best Cook" apron. It's the opposite though. We just eat freezer food and restaurant food at home. I couldn't contact my mom from the college town. This is a non-magic area and if I made a call here, we would definitely be caught. So we've been communicating through Edores' mom.
"Someone found us out. But don't worry about it. I won't be able to go back there again probably, but hopefully will see Edores soon. Hopefully." I add as I hug her tightly. God I've missed her so much. As much as I hated leaving Edores, nothing compares to my mother's hugs.
