Edwin's Pov

"Why the hell did you have to start a fire in the warehouse?" I yell as I sprint after Orja. God he's faster than me.

"I thought the member would be there. My intuition just said to do that." He simply shrugs. Simply. Shrugs.

"We could've been caught, you idiot. I thought you were smarter than that?!" I call out as I catch up to him. "You do not EVER use magic in a human town let alone a goddamn human country!" I yell at him next to me.

"What if that was a member though? What if I actually did kill one! We would be down to two left!"

I flinch at his tone. We were already down to two. I felt bad that Talia had to kill her own mother for this. I wish I could've said more to Edores but I didn't know what to say, I had killed my own parents too and didn't even feel guilty about it.

"We were already down to two." I mumble while still running.

"We were?"

"Talia just killed her mom. Apparently she was a member." I sigh.

"Oh." Orja lets out a breath. "Everyone's parents are being killed now huh."

"Pretty much." I huff.

"Why does Talia hate your guts? We have something in common I suppose." He smirks.

"I was an ass to her and Edores when we met."

"You mean your cold, cruel, very much real self?" Orja chuckles.

"I suppose. I mean she treated Niko and I like shit too, so it was only fair." I laugh.

"But you initiated it, of course."

"Oh of course." I roll my eyes.

"I think the coast is clear. I don't smell any magic around, and there's no humans either." Orja looks around.

"Do you think we killed a member?" I pant leaning down to stretch my legs, we definitely ran at least twenty miles.

"I hope so. I sensed a magic presence."

"Why the hell did I go with you?" I glare at his stupidity.

"Don't ask me. I told you I always work better alone. You distracted me by your yelps because a fucking flame licked your shoe." He rolls his eyes.

"What else did you expect me to fucking do!?"

"Be calm like the cold hearted bitch you are." He smirks.

"You're still mad about that? That was over a decade ago!"

"Of course I'm still mad at that. You pounced on a fucking six year old!" Orja glares.

"I was just a year older, and overprotective of my sister. I backed off when you got all power crazy."

"We could've just had a friendly chat! I mean what if I wanted to become friends with you huh? You ruined your chances with that, you almost killed me!" He yells.

"I never did friendship or friendly chats. That was just with Niko and Leon because I grew up with them. You almost killed me too! But you just had to show that you were this oh so powerful Angel and throw that in the Crown Prince's face."

"It was a defense mechanism! Don't tell me you wouldn't have done the same thing if the roles were switched! We're both the same, we fight and use magic instead of talking shit out. I was in love with her, Edwin. I still am. I still love Eden and so wish that it was I who got killed and not her. But that didn't happen and by the time I heard she was dead, it, it broke my heart and it was too late to try and make amends with you. To try and take revenge against the person who killed the love of my life." Orja chuckles bitterly.

I clench my teeth. "I-I didn't realize that she meant that much to you. I thought you never came back because you didn't care about her. Thought you never reached out because you forgot about her."

"Never. I cared about her and still do. I can never forget her. And I can never forgive myself for not fighting my father and staying here, by her side, I could've protected her." He shakes his head.

"You couldn't have protected her. My parents, my family were manipulative and evil. But you knew that already, you thought I was just like them didn't you."

He nods. "I did. But Edores proved me wrong about you this past month. I regret not coming sooner. You've changed so much huh, she changed you."

"For the better." I give a small smile.

"You're lucky to have her. She reminds me of Eden. Her personality."

"That's what I said, and my family." I chuckle, "Wait you don't have feelings for her or any of that right?

"God no, she's like a sister to me. So treat her fucking right, or else we'll be enemies again."

"We aren't enemies anymore?" I raise a brow.

"No. Unless you want to be."

"Nah, I have too many of those." I laugh and he joins me.

"Yeah you do. So friends?"

"Friends." I shake his hand, smirking.

"Let's get back to the house before the group gets worried. Mainly Edores." Orja smirks back and I nod. We called to take a taxi back to the house.

"There you are. I was worried." Edores gives me a brief kiss when we enter her room. Orja gives me a knowing look. He knows her so well already I suppose.

"So did you find a member?" Leon asks.

"I think we did but I'm not so sure." Orja shrugs.

"He lit a magic fire in the warehouse he sensed a magic presence in." I roll my eyes. "We would've been caught if we hadn't ran all over town. So we don't know if we actually killed the person or not. And we don't know if they were actually a member or not, we couldn't ask." I send a glare over to Orja who just rolls his eyes back. Friendship takes time, it's not immediate, at least for me it isn't.

"Okay so as of right now let's say we still have two left." Edores shrugs.

"But if that was a member, we'll never know. We could be on a hunt for the last one wondering if we already killed them or not." Leon frowns.

"See? Told you that was an idiotic move." I snicker at Orja.

"It was fight or flight mode okay? I don't like unnecessary chatter."

"That is so not true." I raise a brow at him.

"I get it though. You're bound to make mistakes when in that mode. I know I did." Talia mutters, speaking for the first time in a while, leading the group to look at her.

"I'm sorry you had to kill your mother, Talia, it's not fair. I can't relate completely since I didn't feel guilty for killing mine, but I get that you felt betrayed as I did too." I give a small smile.

"What mistake did you make?" Orja looks at her.

Talia raises a brow at him. Right, he talks to all of us except her. That's absolutely hilarious.

"I just didn't pay attention to what she was saying. She could've been giving me clues about finding the other two members and I couldn't concentrate on what she was saying. I mean I didn't even want to listen to her excuses at that point." Talia sighs.

"It's okay Lia." Edores rubs her arms giving her a small smile.

Orja stares at Talia for a bit while Edores hugs her. I watch him in amusement as he shakes his head and looks at me. His eyes widen once he notices my smirk.

"So let's get some rest and continue looking in the morning. Maybe we can check in some other parts of the country, separately this time so we cover more space." I announce.

"Can I take a rain check for tomorrow?" Talia asks.

"Of course." Edores replies.

"Okay so the four of us will meet up at dawn then split. Sound good?" I ask.

They all nod and we separate for the night. I give Edores a kiss and she and Talia head to Talia's home to sleep. The three of us camp out in Edores' room and the living room couch.
