Edwin's Pov
"You got this." Edores whispered with a kiss before I split up from the group.
I roam around the silent corridors stopping when I hear hushed voices in front of one of the rooms. The room with the red door. Eden's art room. You've got to be fucking kidding me.I don't bother knocking or waiting another second. I slam the door open to see the Queen and King and Monen's stunned faces.
"That's right. You didn't expect to see me. Honestly I wished the circumstances were different because it's not like I wanted to be here anyway." I grunt out watching them. They all glance at each other uneasily until I grow even more impatient.
"Speak you imbeciles!" I whisper shout to not draw unwanted attention outside the room. "Why the hell are you in the special room of the child you fucking killed?!"
"What?" The Queen asks stunned. I can tell it's fake by the sparkle in her bloodshot eyes.
I quickly use my magic creating a long chain with magic resistance and lock it around the three of them pushing them together. I slit a corner of my hand with my dagger and drip my blood down on the lock of the chain. This way, the chain can only be broken by me. My favorite kind of magic. Blood magic. I spell the chain to tighten every minute. To suffocate and squeeze them to death.
A silent eery moment passes before the Queen yelps in pain. The dark magic poison wedging itself into her veins.
"What did I do to deserve this? We don't deserve this! Let us go!" She yelps again struggling out of the chains hold, which only makes them tighten even more.
"You more than deserve this. You fucking killed Eden!" I shout.
"We didn't kill Eden!" The Queen shouts back before wincing as a sharp edge of the chain cuts her wrist.
I roll my eyes, "Okay you got her killed. Same fucking thing. You murdered her! Your own child!"
"That's not what happened!" The King yells.
"Wow you're defending your murderer of a wife now? You were silent this whole damn time!" I yell at him.
"Don't call her a murderer!" He winces at the tightened hold of my chains.
"She fucking killed your mother too! You're still defending her?" I yell incredulously.
"My mother committed dozens of crimes!" He argues.
"Against what? Let me guess, the illegal council you're running? The power greedy council?"
"The Council of Power is not illegal. It's a balance for the Supernatural world." Monen jumps in.
"And how does it bring 'balance' when all they want is filthy power. They're trying to wipe out our species. All of the magic. This is what the goddamn prophecy was talking about! This is why you people need to be stopped!" I argue squeezing my hands to tighten the chains further. I watch their clothes start to bleed through with their joint yelps.
"You're doing the same thing we did. You're killing your family, your parents." The King says exasperated.
"You're not my family. Not my parents. You don't fucking deserve to be called parents when you murdered your own child!" I yell again.
"You're bringing Edores into a blood-thirsty family. When she needs to sacrifice your own daughter in the future for the needs of your species you won't listen to her?" The Queen asks. Well, she's done it. I snap and glare my eyes into her soul. I squeeze her throat with my non-chain holding hand tightly.
"She would never do that because she's not a fucking monster. You're a fucking monster. You don't even deserve to die in hell. You don't even deserve a painful death. You deserve-"
"Your Highness you need to let go of Her Majesty." A new voice interrupts. I turn around to see Leon standing at the door entrance with a bunch of guards. What the hell?
"Your Highness, you are under arrest for attempted murder of the King and Queen. Please don't make me use force." Leon sighs. Again, what the hell?
"Break the lock and then follow me down to the dungeons." The guard next to him says.
I'm outnumbered. I failed. I didn't kill them on time. I wasted my time interrogating them when I should've just gotten the job done. They were just heavily bleeding, not even remotely close to death. I groan internally and break the lock. I glare daggers at Leon, who still seems remotely unfazed and calm. What the hell just happened?
The guard who spoke grabs my hand and leads me down the to the dungeons. I begrudgingly follow knowing there's nothing I can do now. I just hope Edores and her friends had better luck and were able to escape.
