Edwin's Pov

After Evelyn's quite embarrassing comment about us, Edores and I ate dinner with her and Leon sat with us. She even called Talia over so she could hang out with us too. Leon and Evelyn got along well and we all were just talking and having a nice time.

The day had gone by quite quickly after Edores let her mom give her explanations and answers to all of her questions. It went very well and I'm very proud of Edores for having the confidence and will power to go through all of that. But damn, Queen of All Supernaturals is a really big thing and a really big title. I wonder how Bursen will react to that, I know for sure she's going to be made fun of by him, but I'll protect her, Bursen won't get to her with me in the middle.

We were going to be staying at the house since Evelyn didn't want her daughter and "boyfriend" in her words, not mine, to be staying in a hotel, so of course she offered for us to stay here. She even set up the guest room for Leon even though he refused so many times. Evelyn is quite stubborn and persistent, just like my mom. Talia went back to her house after begging Edores to tell her everything tomorrow and now Edores and I were going to her old room to sleep for the night. Evelyn was quite enthusiastic about us sharing a room and Edores was just plain red the entire conversation and just ran to her room in the middle of it.

"Goodnight Evelyn, thank you so much for letting me stay here with you guys." I smile.

"Anytime Edwin. Goodnight." She calls out as I head into Edores room. She's probably asleep so I don't turn on the light.

I use my flashlight to dig around for my clothes and then change in her connected bathroom. When I step back inside the room, Edores is sitting up leaned back on the headboard. I join her in her silent stare into space adventure.

"Hi." She finally says whispering.

"Hi." I whisper back and turn to look at her. Her bed is quite small so there's no space in between us, but comfortable enough so we don't have to stick together. Although I wouldn't mind that in the least. PLATONICALLY.

"Sorry about my mom. God, she just always embarrasses me." Edores groans out and I chuckle.

"Remember how my mom acted the day you met her? Yeah, this is nothing relax. She was just making claims that I was your boyfriend. While my mom accused me of impregnating you." I laugh at the memory, and she joins in.

"Yeah, what's with our moms man." She shakes her head.

"Well, today went really well. I just have to say I'm proud of you once again. I don't care how many times I've told you that already, but I am. Just know that." I smile at her and lean to kiss her forehead again. Like I said, second nature at this point.

"Thank you. And once again, I've told you this already but thank you for being there with me the whole time. I really appreciate it."

"Anytime." I hug her and lay us down so we can both get some sleep. "Sleep, it's been a long day, mentally and verbally. And just like promised, I'll teleport us to a nice private archery range to play our friendly match. tomorrow. Sound good?" I ask.

"Sounds perfect. Thank you." Edores grins at me, "Seriously, I would've caved and chickened out without you there with me giving me looks and hand squeezes." She chuckles.

"Well, I'm happy I was the one that got to do that." I grin back. She just keeps the eye contact, and I swear I saw a hint of affection in her eyes, but I could've mistaken that with excitement. No clue. Doesn't matter. We're friends in a fake relationship to rule the Dark Wizard kingdom. Wait...what about her duties as a Queen?

"Edores, quick question."

"Yeah?" She mumbles.

"With you being Queen of All Supernaturals,-"

"That title is too wordy we need a key word for it." She interrupts and I laugh.

"Okay how is...Queen of Everything?"

"Too conceited." She points out and I think again.

"Queen of Beings?"

"Eh, be more creative." She chuckles. Okay hmmm.

"Queen of Magic." I state. I don't ask, I state. Because I know she's going to love it. And truth be told Supernatural Beings are magic so it's not a lie or an overstatement or anything. And it's not conceited at all. It's a perfect fit for her. She's my Queen of Magic.

"That's perfect. Short and sweet." Edores grins. Yeah, I know her so well. I grin back.

I get to the point, "Anyways...with you being Queen of Magic, would you still be able to help me with the Dark Wizard kingdom? Or how would that work?"

"I don't even think I have a kingdom, so yeah I'd assume we'd just go forward like planned before all of this Queen and Demi-God stuff. We'll keep that to ourselves and our families for now. Until and unless something comes up." She shrugs. Yeah, that makes sense.

"True, plus we need to figure out that prophecy first because I have no clue what we're really saving the kingdom from...maybe it's from the same people that killed the Gods?" I throw out the thought, immediately regretting what I just said because her face falls.

I stammer-"I-I didn't mean-"

"No no chill, I got what you meant. I'm just scared at that thought, because being the only Demi-God, that makes me a target, the main target. And if I'm with you and your kingdom, doesn't that make the whole Dark Wizards species a target?"

Oh, fuck I didn't think of it like that. I mentally face-palm.

"Edores..." I start and she looks up with me matching the same worried look on my face probably. We both know what we have to do.

"We have to get back to your palace first thing tomorrow." Edores finishes my thoughts for me with a look of horror.

The only people that know she was there, was our trusted circle but, but if news spreads, we're looking at a blood bath. Greedy blood bath out for Edores and her allies, aka my family and hers and our friends.

"Fuck. We need to go now." Edores sits up and I pull her right back down.

"No. We need to wait. You need sleep. We need to make a game plan and in order to do that we need to be wide awake and alert. No doubt the prophecy is about this. Now the look my grandma gave us that night makes sense. She didn't even need to tell us. We need to get back there fast, I agree, but first sleep it off. We'll leave first thing in the morning. Until then, you need to relax." I pin her down under me, so she understands how serious I am and doesn't get up.

She nods and then her face reddens. What happened? I look at her with a confused expression, until I take in the position, we're in. She's directly under me, faces a few inches apart. I freeze. I feel heat flush up my face, so I let her go and jump to the side of her.

I cough a couple of times to relieve the tension in the room. What just happened? Was I about to kiss her? No... yeah maybe just her forehead, but that would've been it. Right? Yeah.

"Goodnight." I stutter out and flip to the opposite side so she can't see my face which I'm sure is even redder than before.

"Goodnight." She mumbles sounding flustered as well. It was an awkward position, so I get it. But it couldn't possibly be what I was thinking of. Right?
